The USP of Sealtronic nozzle, according to Leibinger’s area sales manager, Hendric Schneider, is that it prevents clogging of nozzle due to ink drying after long shut downs.

Schneider explained, “Even when production stops, the ink circulation continues as the catcher tube (gutter) and nozzle form an air tight circuit. No ink may leak from the circulation and no air can come in. Thus, the ink remains liquid as in a closed can of lacquer and the inkjet printer is always ready for use eliminating the need of cleaning cycles.”

The Jet3 is suitable for classical as well as for complex demands in product marking and coding. It boasts of five-line print jobs and a print quality up to 32 drop resolution. The Jet2neo is ideal for standard applications. Because of its small size it can be integrated into any production environment.

For these two series, the company has recently introduced two FDA-compliant inks and two additional MEK-free inks. Schneider said, “One of the new red inks is especially suitable for the marking of eggs. The eggshell ink meets the stringent requirements set by the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration). Even if the ink were to get inside the shell, the egg would still be absolutely safe to eat.”

In addition to this, the range now includes a blue ink which is FDA-compliant. The ethanol-based ink is edible after printing and can therefore be used for food packaging as well as direct printing on food products.

Speaking about the company’s review of Interpack, Schneider said, “It has been our experience that customers do not close deals at Interpack. They evaluate technologies during the show and then later touch base for deal confirmations. Even this time, we have seen several serious inquiries.”
