Both the machines will be installed at the company’s 30,000 sqft area in Harohalli Industrial Area, Bengaluru. The company has also installed a Mitsubishi six-colour coater plus UV at the site. The greenfield project is set to be ready by April 2020.
Novacut 3.0 is a high-speed automatic flatbed die-cutter which can die-cut paper, paperboard and corrugated board materials. It has a production rate of 8,000 sph.
Venkatesh said, “Our long-term goal will comprise of both general and specialised cartons. We already have the necessary post-press equipment, and a few more are in the pipeline such as a gold foiling machine. In addition, we will be adding a new offset press.”
According to Subbaraj, Kandalaa can create its own identity in packaging in Bengaluru as currently most of the jobs are being outsourced to western parts of the country, and there is a market requirement for such a packaging converter in the region.
Speaking to PrintWeek about the investment on Bobst kits, he said, “We were impressed with the technology and metallurgy of the machines and the quality, productivity, and accuracy it provides.”
The machines ensure longevity, which was a vital aspect to be considered in our long-term business plan,” added Subbaraj.”
