Mumbai-based Silverpoint Press used the paper, exclusively distributed in India by Papers Worldwide India Services, to print its samples that won the company the Catalogue and Brochure Printer of the Year 2016 Prism. Hyderabad’s Pragati used the paper to print its speciality books, while Delhi’s Avantika Printers used the paper to highlight the potential of digital printing on Canon ImagePress C800.
According to Vikramjeet Singh Judge, managing director, Papers Worldwide, the Indian print market is increasingly using imported fine paper as printers maximise machine capabilities with a responsive and attractive substrate to differentiate and also command a premium. In addition to using better quality paper, printers are also moving up the value chain by moving away from CMYK to customised Pantone shades and adopting post-press finishing techniques like foiling, stamping and UV treatment, along with improved binding and pasting to offer international quality products.
Judge said, Renoir rough gloss, being extremely versatile, can be used to print anything from books to brochures, including calendars and corporate stationery. “The increasing sales numbers of this paper bear testament to its popularity and acceptance,” he added.
Aditya Bhat of Delhi-based Lustra Print Process, the company that uses Renoir paper extensively, said, “In today’s ubiquitous need of fine paper in most market verticals, from brochures to coffee table books to wedding cards, Renoir is one of our best choices for print production with its natural look and bulky texture and its adaptability to different printing environments.”
While Silverpoint used Renoir Extra White 190 gsm for the Parkside brochure, Pragati Offset used Renoir 130 gsm to print the books Five Morsels of Love and Prabuddha Das Gupta 1956-2012. Avantkia used Renoir as one of the many papers in its C800 Media catalogue for Canon ImagePress C800.
The Renoir premium rough gloss category of papers is sourced from the Moorim Paper Mill, Korea. According to the company, the paper is popular for its excellent ink hold out and drying time properties. The papers are available from 105 to 260 gsm in ivory and extra white shades.
With its headquarters in UAE, and with offices in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and New Delhi, Papers Worldwide is a leading paper supplier and distributor specialising in fine paper, technical papers, commodity and conventional papers, photocopy papers and packaging material.
