Vasai-based Saroj Art Printers has been in the pharmaceutical business from the past three decades. We specialise in producing paper-board cartons, tailor-made for our customers who comprise of domestic as well as multi-national pharmaceutical companies.
What does the software do?
The Ipv ProofCheck is a proof-checking software by Pratham Technologies. Being a pharma converter it is critical to detect even a minute deviation in the product information leaflets or the instructions on the cartons. With the software, we cross-check the ready-to-print artwork PDF file with the original customer-approved artwork PDF file before printing to ensure error-free result.
When did you invest in it and did you look at any other similar software?
We invested in the software in June 2017 and we did not really look at any other software.
Why did you make the purchase?
We invested in the software in a bid to reinforce the quality aspect and ensure error-free supplies to our customers. We found the software to be innovative and it does help us to carry our production with ease.
What features do you particularly like?
It is the ability of the software to do a PDF to PDF analysis for print-ready artworks and PDF to scan analysis for printed sheets. Also, the software is developed in India and having the software developer close to you is an advantage in terms of your requirements.
Is there anything that you dislike?
We have been using it for few months and there is nothing that we do not like.
How fast is it?
The ProofCheck facilitates pixel to pixel comparison for the proof checking process and is used at the regular print speeds we operate in.
What’s the output like?
The ProofCheck provides pixel to pixel comparison based identification solutions for carton, leaflet and label analysis. The results that are checked – are documented and can be traced back to each individual evaluation. Detailed fault reports including graphics and such details can be easily created in a PDF format.
How reliable is it?
The software is totally reliable and checks the digital data pixel by pixel to detect deviations such as incorrect colour sequences, missing or wrong characters, spots or shadows, which get shown accordingly. This ensures the print output is 100% defect-free.
How easy is it to use?
The results are summarised and saved in a PDF-document. In addition, the system generates both, a Short Report for quick and brief understanding as well as Long Report for the detailed understanding of analysis with pictorial data.
How much time or money has it saved?
With ProofCheck, we save time as well as costs and manual intervention in checking the artworks and text. Finally, it assures us about the correctness of our product.
Has it won you any new work?
Today we are able to produce error-free output and we are confident that it will definitely translate into new business.
Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
No, the entire installation, as well as calibration of the software, went smoothly, thanks to Pratham’s technical service team.
What about the pre and after-sale service?
The after-sales service by Pratham Technologies’ engineers has been excellent till date.

It will definitely depend on the workload that we will have in future.
