Digital Media India 2016 Conference

Highlight: The Digital Media India conference is organised by Wan-Ifra India. The Digital Media India 2015 held from 10-11 February had attracted more than 100 delegates. This included speakers from Schibsted, BBC News, Apple Daily, Quartz, Mather Economics, and The Indian Express. This year the conference is based on five themes and those are audience data analytics, digital advertising and ad-blockers, mobile, social media and online video.

PrintPack Arabia 2016

Highlight: The inaugural Print Pack Arabia 2014, held at Expo Centre Sharjah in April 2014, being the launch edition, it attracted 88 exhibitors and 4,236 trade visitors during its four-day show with the support of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and our Co-organiser’s Indian Printing, Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers Association (IPAMA).
 
The flexible packaging industry in the Middle East and Africa was valued at 4 billion dollars in 2013.

Romancing Print 2016

Highlight: All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) had organised the first conference ‘Romancing Print’ in New Delhi on February 25, 2011, witnessing over 300 delegates including offset and digital printers, print suppliers and machinery manufacturers.

This event is an opportunity for printers in the region to have a look into the ‘romancing’ technologies available for them in order to reduce cost and increase productivity especially in the present day scenario of immense competition.
 
PackPro Expo 2016

Highlight: The 7th edition of PackPro Expo 2016, formerly called Southpack is one of the region’s known packaging and processing exhibition. Intel Trade Fairs & Exposition are also the organisers of PrintExpo 2016 held from 12-14 August 2016 at the Chennai Trade Centre; Chennai The show is expected to have around 200 exhibitors from all over country, and good number of footfalls from all over India. Intel also hosts a bi-annual show in Kochi, Print Miracle, along with the Kerala Master Printers Association.

Fespa Digital 2016

Highlights: The 10th anniversary of Fespa is themed around: Digiman (digital printing), Textilewoman (textile printing) and ESEman (signage).
 
Why should you attend the show?
The European Sign Expo will take place alongside with Fespa Digital 2016, showcasing innovations in non-printed signage. The debut of Fespa Textile will offer visitors an overview to digital textile printing including garment decoration, soft signage and interior textiles.
 
For the first time in digital tradeshow history, Fespa will cover the largest floor space with 450 exhibitors occupying 42, 000 sq/m, over seven halls at the RAI Exhibition Centre, representing a growth rate of 159% from its inception in 2006. Ricoh is one of the new additions to the exhibitor portfolio for the 2016 edition. London Book Fair

Highlights: The London Book Fair (LBF) is a must attend for printers and publishers of English speaking nations. The Indian printers, publishers and service providers will be present at the show; Manipal Technologies, Parksons Graphics, Multivista Global, Repro India, Almats Branding Solutions, Sheth Publishing, Gita Publishing House, and Nutech Print Services.
 
Why should you attend the show?
The 31st International Publishers Congress, 9 April to 12 April 2016, will take place at the London Book Fair for the first time. Delegates to this international gathering will hear from speakers from 17 countries including Chiki Sarkar, CEO of Juggernaut Books (India), Francis Gurry from the Geneva-based World Intellectual Property Organisation, and Singaporean publisher Fei Chen Lee of Times Publishing Group. The Congress is organised by the International Publishers Association in partnership with the UK Publishers Association and the London Book Fair.

Screen Print India 2016

Highlights: The Screen Print India (SPI) tradeshow which will focus on screen, textile and digital printing had made its North India debut in 2013 and Vietnam in 2015. Screen Print returns to Mumbai.
 
Why should you attend the show?
The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), USA and IPAMA have confirmed their support to Screen Print India. The ASGA board meeting will be held in Mumbai, post-Screen Print India 2016.
 
Drupa 2016
Date: 31 May-10 June 2016
 
Venue: Dusseldorf, Germany
 
Highlights: This is the biggest daddy of them all. The last edition of Drupa saw 1,850 exhibitors participation with around 3,14,500 visitors from 130 countries in attendance. The Indian participation with 15,000 visitors was the second largest after Germany 1,23,000 visitors. Five Indian companies have confirmed their presence at the Drupa.
 
Why should you attend the show?
Print is reinventing itself - hence, it’s important to visit Drupa to understand what to invest in especially now that we live in a multichannel communications world.
The B2 size inkjet sheetfed will blossom at Drupa 2016, with both Konica Minolta and Komori perhaps launching their respective kits which were shown as concepts during the last edition. In addition, to the ten to twelve colour narrow web presses, keep an eye on applications like hot foil embossing in wine and spirit labels.
 
The Drupa innovation park 2016 (DIP) will be the focal point for the industry’s latest inspiring and creative developments. PackPlus 2016

Highlight: PackPlus, the total packaging, processing and supply chain event, brings niche shows under four distinctive zones on one business and networking platform. The PackPlus show during the four days exhibition handed out the more than 13,000 badges in 2015.
 
The 2015 edition saw a 30 per cent rise as compared to the 2014 edition of the show. The International Packaging Conclave conducted in an alongside hall at the venue was exploring new terrain as it focused on the growth of the organised of retail, e-commerce and its impact on packaging. The event had touched upon the issues that affect packaging through the entire value chain in interactive sessions and deliberated on new materials, tools and systems that can help connect the dots in the entire process.

The 2015 edition of Media Expo had talks about growth in the wide-format segment, new technologies, from flatbed wide-format machines to the use of eco-solvent, dye sublimation and UV. Profile of the exhibitors are based on sign substrates, sheeting, coating, hot-stamping, heat transfer, packaging materials, designers, papers, ink systems and more.

The event is a platform to meet the needs of the exhibitors, visitors, organisers of All in Print China, and to experience the market development and communication of the printing industry in a faster pace.

All in Print China will extend its support to Drupa, raising its warmth to the top of Asia. All in Print 2016 will carry Drupa’s torch and the latest technologies to China, attracting more Chinese producers and enterprises to participate and communicate. Frankfurt Book Fair

Highlights: The biggest book show in the world. The 2015 fair boasted a total of 275,791 visitors.

Nowhere else does the industry show itself in a more multifaceted, innovative and international light, for the five days in October, then this is the place to be. Plus this year, the Netherlands and Flanders will join together in a collective presentation as Guests of Honour. Labelexpo India 2016

Highlights: The 2016 edition of Labelexpo India has shifted to the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida (Delhi-NCR), the same venue as the very successful PrintPack 2015.
 
Why should you attend the show?
Labelexpo India is the largest label event in India. It is one of the world’s fastest-growing label markets, attended by all the key label printers in South Asia, with more products, launches and live demonstrations.

PackTech 2016

Date: 15-17 December 2016

Venue: Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre (BEC), Mumbai
 
Highlights: The organisers of the show are expecting the trade fair to attract around 250 exhibitors, with the exhibition space area 14,000 sq/m. Euromonitor International shows the Indian demand for processed and packaged food is set to rise by about 31% by 2019. During the same period, the soft drinks sales are even expected to rise to more than twice their current level.
 
Why should you attend the show?
From 2016 onward, the International PackTech and Drink Technology India, the two trade shows will be complemented by FoodPex India. Bernd Jablonowski, global portfolio director for packaging and processing at Messe Dusseldorf, the organisers of International PackTech India and FoodPex India, said, “In 2014, Messe Dusseldorf and Messe Munchen were presenting products and solutions at the two trade fairs. It’s a logical step to enhance, the range by adding a dedicated platform under the name of FoodPex, a brand which we previously launched in China.”
