As anticipation builds for Print Summit 2025, the energy is palpable. The theme "Be Unstoppable" will rekindle the excitement from the previous edition.
Faheem Agboatwala, the summit's chairperson, encapsulates a spirit of resilience and determination that resonates deeply with attendees and industry leaders alike. “Come what may, we will do better; that’s the only way,” he states passionately, inviting participants to delve into their interpretations of what it truly means to be unstoppable in the dynamic world of print and packaging.
Print Summit (PS) is not your ordinary conference; it’s a vibrant convergence of diverse voices that challenge the status quo. With an impressive lineup of speakers, including industry titans like Anand Kripalu, Bharat Goenka, Neelandra Singh and KBS Anand, the event promises to be a treasure trove of insights. Agboatwala believes this diversity is the unique selling point of the summit, asserting, “PS is not a conference; it’s a confluence.” It’s a space where multifaceted knowledge flows freely, inspiring fresh ideas and fostering inclusive dialogue amid the intricacies of the print industry.
Igniting ideas for disruption
The summit will tackle key trends and challenges shaping the Indian print and packaging landscape. With pressing topics such as the transformative role of AI and the integration of fulfilment in the work culture, attendees will explore a myriad of avenues to galvanise their thinking. “We hope to address the huge topics that impact our future and get people to start thinking,” Agboatwala remarks, highlighting the importance of proactive engagement in an ever-evolving industry.
In this year’s Print Summit, attendees can expect not just knowledge but a call to action, encouraging them to embrace their unstoppable spirit and drive positive change within their organisations. With the promise of exploration and excitement, the event is set to be an exhilarating experience like no other.
As Print Summit 2025 begins, it’s clear that the event aims to be more than just a series of presentations; it’s a vibrant melting pot of ideas, insights, and inspirations.
Agboatwala, who founded the Bombay Master Printers Association’s unique Share to Benefit Forum, believes in the transformative power of an open mind: “Our goal is to ignite ideas, not preach. The onus is on the delegates to seize the moment and extract learning from every interaction—be it the profound sessions or even the subtle exchanges with the backstage crew.” His energy reflects a commitment to fostering an environment where every participant can thrive.
Sessions to get your pulse racing
This year's Print Summit is not without its highlights, particularly two sessions that are set to promise memorable experiences.
The use of dynamic video footage in ITK’s presentation will capture the audience's imagination, complemented by the engaging guftagu led by K Selvakumar alongside Khushru Patel.
Not to be overshadowed, Milap Shah’s discourse with the vibrant young thinkers exploring the realm of AI is bound to spark conversations long after the final curtain falls.
Agboatwala underscores the importance of these carefully curated sessions: “Iqbal and Milap have poured months of effort into these discussions, ensuring extensive interaction with our panellists. I can’t wait for the audience to see the final result”
Amid these enriching talks, one name that has piqued attendees' interest is the legendary sports commentator Harsha Bhogle. Known for his magnetic presence and insightful observations, he’s sure to captivate the audience. Agboatwala reveals, “Since announcing his participation, the flood of messages about people’s excitement to engage with him live has been overwhelming. We’re committed to ensuring maximum interaction, aiming to give ample time for audience questions during this session—it's the opportunity everyone will want to be a part of!"
Agboatwala: Global challenges require a shakeup, maybe a jump start in the way we rethink
As the summit unfolds, it promises an invigorating mix of learning, networking, and sheer joy—exactly what the industry needs to navigate today’s global challenges. “Global challenges require a shakeup, maybe a jump start in the way we rethink,” Agboatwala asserts, hinting at the thrilling revival promised by Maestro Taufiq Qureshi’s invigorating percussion that will stir minds and bodies alike.
Reflecting on past summits, Agboatwala recalls a particularly touching moment: “Sonam Wangchuk’s heartfelt appeal to love a simple life resonated deeply, reminding us of our connection to the world outside urban hustle.” Such moments, rich with meaning, are what PS25 seeks to replicate - an event not just to attend but to experience in all its rolling energy and vibrant community spirit.
Economic shifts and opportunities in print and packaging
As India's GDP growth slows to 5.7% in Q2 2024, a silver lining emerges with resilient rural demand, particularly reflected in the surge of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sales. This trend presents a golden opportunity for the print and packaging industry, which is well-positioned to adapt to the shifting economic landscape.
Agboatwala emphasises India's sheer scale of opportunities: "With a 1.5-billion population, the opportunities are humongous.” The very thought of a mere 1% shift in consumer behaviour could unleash a tidal wave of demand for packaged products. “Think about this – if just one per cent of tea drinkers move from loose tea in plastic bags to branded tea, we would require huge facilities to meet that demand,” he elaborates.
This potential extends beyond just tea; the post-pandemic world has seen a growing inclination towards hygiene products, especially disposable items. “Manufacturers of hygiene products have been laughing their way to the bank for the past five years,” he adds, showcasing how changing consumer habits can lead to significant growth within the sector.
In the realm of print, the debate around the future of offset sheetfed printing versus inkjet printing is heating up. As digital printing takes centre stage, Agboatwala identifies an intriguing angle to the transformation: individualisation.
He notes, “The moment a project requires individualisation, digital comes in and demolishes the price disadvantage over conventional methods.” This statement underlines the power of digital transformation in creating customised products and enhancing affordability for businesses and consumers alike.
Going further, Agboatwala believes that the next step for manufacturers is to democratise the ink supply. “Once control and pricing rationalise, digital will be much more mass market than it is in its current avatar,” he asserts, hinting at the promising future of digital printing in India. This evolution isn’t just about technology but rather about redefining the entire landscape of manufacturing and consumer interaction.

The key to staying unstoppable
It's clear that the path to success is paved with a willingness to adapt and innovate.
A case-study in short. In 1975, Kodak was the world's most powerful photo company, worth USD 31-billion. By 2012, they were completely bankrupt. Not because of competition or technology - but because of one fatal decision, which became their biggest mistake. Kodak invented the digital future. Then killed it to protect the past. Sometimes, your biggest threat isn't your competition. It's your success which is blinding you from innovating.
Agboatwala says, “I one hundred per cent agree that we must innovate to survive,” Agboatwala acknowledges. “Sometimes, complacency blinds us to the need for progress. At BMPA, we don’t let that happen.” His reference to Kodak’s downfall serves as a stark reminder that success can sometimes become a stumbling block.
With a nod to his decade-long PS journey, Agboatwala shares his commitment to the next generation, stating, “PS26 will see me stepping down as chairman, allowing the new generation to bring in new and unstoppable ideas to Print Summit.” This bold decision embodies his belief in fostering innovation and staying relevant—essentials for any industry hoping to thrive.
As we reflect on these insights, it's evident that the road to being ‘unstoppable’ lies in our willingness to innovate, adapt, and, sometimes, step aside and let fresh ideas blossom. In the words of Agboatwala, it’s time for a new chapter: “Long live print – long live PS.”

What they say
Printmann Group, Mumbai
I have attended five Print Summits. Each summit offers a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders and gain insights into the latest trends and technologies.
One moment that stands out for me was a talk by Boman Irani. His energy was remarkable, and it resonated with the audience in a way that is hard to replicate. I hope to see another session that captures that same spirit at PS 2025.
I am looking forward to the upcoming summit on 16 January 2025. The line-up of speakers promises to be impressive, and I am eager to hear their perspectives.
For those attending the Print Summit for the first time, I would advise you to approach the experience with an open mind. Instead of becoming a print solution provider, it is vital to adopt a learner's mindset. Take mental notes, absorb the information shared, and consider how to implement those learnings in your print business.
Jak Printers, Mumbai
Attending the Print Summit events has been a significant part of my professional journey since the first one in 2005, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of BMPA. I can proudly say I have participated in every Print Summit since its inception.
These events have always been highly anticipated within our industry. Each Summit features speakers from diverse sectors, providing insights on a wide range of topics that benefit the printing industry as a whole. Engaging with print experts and participating in panel discussions has been invaluable for me.
As we look ahead to January 16th, 2025, I find myself feeling eager to reconnect and gain new perspectives. For those attending the Print Summit for the first time, my advice is simple: listen attentively and absorb the knowledge shared during discussions. This is a chance to learn and grow, and every moment spent engaged in these talks can lead to important insights for your practice and the industry at large.
Pragati Group, Hyderabad
As someone who has attended several Print Summits over the years, I can confidently say that the experience has been invaluable. While there have been a couple of occasions when I was unable to attend, I have prioritised being present at these events.
One moment that stands out in my memory is the talk given by Harsh Mariwala in 2017. His insights, particularly aimed at younger professionals in the industry, resonated deeply with me. The quality of speakers at each summit consistently impresses me, making each session worthwhile.
Looking ahead to the Print Summit on January 16th, 2025, I am certainly eager to participate. It is an event that I believe is essential for anyone involved in the print industry.
For those who will be attending the Print Summit for the first time, my advice is straightforward: do not miss this significant gathering. It truly serves as a melting pot of ideas and connections. This year, my son will be attending for the first time, and I hope he gains valuable insights just as I did during my earlier experiences.
Avantika Printers, New Delhi
I have attended more than five of these events over the years. Each summit brings unique insights and lessons that have significantly influenced my professional journey.
One moment that stands out for me occurred two years ago during PS 23. Dr Pujya Gnanvatsal Swami, a life coach and respected speaker, shared his perspective on growth, which was enlightening. His approach provided a fresh understanding of what growth should look like and inspired many attendees.
I also recall Arunachalam Muruganantham's talk during the same summit. Hearing his journey was impactful, particularly as he communicated his story in broken Hindi and English. It reinforced a vital lesson: language should not be a barrier if the clarity of thought is strong.
Looking ahead, I am eager to attend PS 25 on 16 January 2025, despite my busy schedule. I believe the summit offers valuable learning and networking opportunities worth prioritising.
For those attending the Print Summit for the first time, I would urge you to make the most of the experience. The event is well-organised, and a proper schedule is maintained—attributes that are often overlooked in our fraternity. Adopting a disciplined approach is the first step toward success. I would like to congratulate the Team BMPA for hosting such an impressive event; the lessons I have learned over the years continue to shape my path in the printing industry.
Art O Print, Ahmedabad
Attending Print Summits has been a valuable experience for me, and I’ve participated in three of them so far. Each summit has left a mark, but a couple of moments particularly stand out.
One of the highlights was a talk by Sudhanshu Mani, known for his work on the Railway Man project. His insights demonstrated that the government takes its responsibilities seriously, and his story was truly inspiring. Additionally, Boman Irani captivated us with his storytelling, motivating everyone in the room. I also appreciated Dr. Pujya Gnanavatsai Swami’s ability to connect his philosophical views with the printing industry, which was insightful.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the upcoming summit on January 16th, 2025. I plan to be there to see what new topics and speakers will be featured.
For those who will be attending the Print Summit for the first time, my advice is simple: trust the BMPA. They excel at selecting relevant themes, people, and topics. The arrangements BMPA makes are consistently well executed, which enhances the overall experience.
Unbox, Pune
I’ve had the incredible opportunity to attend nearly 6-7 Print Summits. Reflecting on those experiences, choosing just one standout talk is hard since each summit has featured so many impactful sessions. However, two speakers resonate with me: Arunachalam Muruganantham, the Pad Man of India, and actor Boman Irani. I was truly struck by their authentic storytelling and the emotional connections they fostered with the audience. They offered insights that you really don’t encounter in everyday life or find readily available online.
As I look forward to the upcoming event on January 16th, 2025, I can confidently say it’s an occasion I can’t afford to miss. For those attending for the first time, my straightforward advice is to take the time to relax and fully absorb the experience. I also want to acknowledge the BMPA team for their hard work in creating an inviting and engaging atmosphere, ensuring everyone has a beneficial experience.
Jak Printers, Mumbai
I have had the opportunity to attend 8-9 Print Summits over the years, and each experience has contributed significantly to my professional growth. One moment that stands out to me is from PS19, where representatives from Bramhakumaris discussed the importance of adapting to environmental changes for organisational growth. Additionally, PC Musthafa from ID Fresh Foods delivered a compelling talk that left a lasting impression. However, my most memorable experience was at PS24, where I participated in a panel discussion alongside accomplished women from the Printing and Packaging Industry.
Each Print Summit has provided me with valuable insights and perspectives that I believe are essential for anyone in our field. I always leave feeling invigorated and eager to implement new ideas.
Looking ahead to 16 January 2025, I am particularly excited to attend as I will have the privilege of witnessing my father, Khushru Patel, present in one of the sessions. It’s an occasion I am proud to be a part of.
For those attending the Print Summit for the first time, I encourage you to engage openly with others. Don’t hesitate to ask questions and seek clarification. Your peers are more than willing to assist, and this interaction can greatly enhance your experience at the event.

As a member of the BMPA and part of BMPA’s STB group, I’m looking forward to the upcoming Print Summit, set for 16th January 2025 at the Tata Theatre, NCPA. This event presents an excellent chance to engage with a diverse lineup of speakers, many of whom I know personally.
Having attended multiple BMPA events, including previous Print Summits, I can attest to the value they provide. Each occasion is filled with insights and well-structured to encourage professional interaction. I see the Print Summit as a learning experience and a chance to network with industry peers.
I encourage everyone to participate in this gathering. The BMPA team is well-prepared, and the event promises to facilitate meaningful discussions. I hope to see many of you there. Please ensure you book your tickets in advance.

As printers, we often attend various seminars, workshops, and summits, but it's not uncommon to feel apprehensive about what to expect. Many events can seem repetitive, with lengthy presentations that may not fully engage us. However, I want to assure you that the Print Summit is different. This event promises a day dedicated to sharing and exchanging knowledge.
We have speakers from around the world who will discuss a wide range of topics, extending beyond just printing. This creates a valuable opportunity for networking, learning, and connecting with colleagues from the industry.
I am also excited to share that I will be one of the panellists this year, discussing the role of generative AI and its impact on print. I encourage you to pay attention to this segment, as it promises to be insightful.
I hope to see many of you at the Summit on 16 January 2025, as it offers a unique chance for growth and collaboration in our field.
