The 2018 edition of Labelexpo India will be held from 22-25 November at the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida. There are 250+ exhibitors who will showcase equipment and solutions for labels to packaging, and everything in between.

Alpna Visual Packaging Aids  |  Stand Q42

The UV and LED curing systems specialist, Alpna has over 2,500 installations of its kit in India and overseas. Alpna says, its UV and LED curing system are enablers to many flexo and offset printing firms. Some of the marquee names in its clientele are EdelmannPackaging, KCL Limited, Parksons Cartamundi, Kumar Printers, Premier Paper Products, Print-Vision, and Award Packaging, to name a few. At the show, the will showcase its “tried and trusted” mercury UV and LED UV systems for label presses and sheetfed offset presses. 

Alliance Printech  |  Stand F21

New Delhi-based Alliance Printech has more than 20 flexo presses installed in India. At the last Labelexpo India in 2016, the company launched the Newflex V370, the platform of which is used in the new Alliance A3 flexo label press, which will be uncovered at this show. The A3 will come with a range of new features such as chambered inking system, cantilever unwind and rewind stands, UV with chill drum for flexible substrates, corona treater, web cleaner, cold foil station, delam-relam, and a lamination unit.

BST Eltromat  |  Stand H17

On BST’s booth, visitors can experience live demonstrations of TubeScan 100% defect detection system for narrow web applications. Launched in 2014, the Tubscan has 10 installations in India and promises process reliability with the base function digital strobe as it delivers steady images and true colour representation irrespective of the web speed. According to BST, the operator can keep full control over the entire production, even during critical phases like makeready time and start/stop.

Bobst  |  Stand B12

Bobst M5 label press is a must-see at the show. In India, there are more than twenty installations of Bobst inline narrow and mid-web flexo and multi-process printing and converting machines, eight of which are M5 lines. The M5 is an inline UV flexo and multi-process production line that can print and convert in a single pass a variety of substrates including paper and filmic self-adhesive stock, glossy paper 60 to 100 gsm, light cardboard up to 300 gsm,  PVC, BOPP, PET, PA unsupported films from 12 microns,  alu-foil from 20 microns, and lamitube. According to Bobst, the M5 is a flexible production tool which can be configured for label, flexible packaging and folding carton production. 

Dizario Industries  |  Stand J42

Dizario’s  LED UV curing system, which was unveiled in 2016, has 20 users including the likes of Geeta Press, Print Best, Diamond, BC Packers, SKG Graphics, and Gandhi Traders. Its easy-to-install and compact design give it an edge over its counterparts in the market, says Sachin Kumar of Dizario. “Only one LED cassette is required for four colour stations. The life of the diode is 25,000 working hours and hence it contributes to about 80% power saving.”

Edale/Printers Supply Company | Stand H10

Edale’s representative in India, Printers Supply Company has installed the Edale’s narrow-web flexographic printing machines for cartons, FL 5 at NAP Printers, Kolkata and Itek Packz, Bengaluru whereas India’s first FL 3 is being installed at Uflex. Both the presses will be video demonstrated at the show by Edale’s sales director Darren Pickford along with Printers Supply Company’s Amitabh Luthra. The FL 3 is available in widths of 350mm and 430mm, and can run substrates from 12 to 450 microns, has an option of semi-rotary die-cutting and full-rotary die-cutting with rail mounted converting options. The FL 5 is available in widths of 430mm, 510mm and 570mm, can run substrates from 12 to 600 microns, has an option of both rotary, as well as flatbed die-cutting with rail, mounted converting options.

Erhardt+Leimer  |  Stand J15

The E+L’s stand has three focal points: Elscan OMS3, Compact corona generator CG9020L and Kelva web cleaning system. The Elscan OMS3 is an entry-level web print monitoring system for narrow webs up to 700 mm. It features DualView camera technology with two 5MP camera combined in one housing. The corona generator CG9020L is compact. It is suitable for integration into label and cup printing machines. The Kelva web cleaning system uses contact of polymer rollers with the web surface from the top and bottom side to make the web clean before printing. All this plus a wide array of web handling tools at E+L. Nilpeter India and Flexo Image Graphics, among others are the companies which use E+L systems on its equipment.

Insight  |  Stand P27

Insight’s star product for the show is the  Screen TruePress Jet L 350 UV+ LM  Series. Launched in 2013, the Truepress Jet L 350 UV inkjet digital label press has seen more than 100 installations of L 350 UV in North America, Europe, UK and South East Asian countries. Although the machine will be demonstrated during the show, the visitors can access the printed samples covering a range of applications. It can print CMYK plus white and orange at a speed of 60 metres per minute. There is an option to use low migration inks for certain pharmaceutical and food package label applications.

Kodak  |  Stand J20

Kodak’s Flexcel NX technology notched 27 installations in the country since its launch a decade ago. At the show, Kodak’s three-point agenda are: Flexcel NX technology, Prinergy Suite and Prinergy Cloud. There will also be the Kodak Prosper S-Series Imprinting Systems. On the workflow front, Kodak will demonstrate Prinergy Workflow suite, especially the recently introduced Cloud solution, which offers a host of new services such as decision analytics, ink and plate usage and dynamic print planning. According to Kodak, there are over 500 users of Kodak Prinergy in India. Kodak will also showcase print samples from across the world of how its customers are using Kodak Prosper Imprinting systems for deriving more value from their hybrid packaging production environments. It enables adding a host of variable data print applications including Imprint barcoding, localisation, bi-lingual versioning and special offers and couponing to packaging. Nilpeter | Stand F15

Nilpeter says its FB series flexo press is hugely popular in the Indian market and has over 70 installations of the classic version. At the show Nilpeter will debut a new avatar of the FB series, FB 430 with added automation features. Launched a year ago, Nilpeter has already delivered seven presses of the new FB series in the Indian market. Nilpeter will run a live demonstration of the FB 430 with emphasis on Nilpeter's value adding units like the flatbed embossing and hot foil unit FP4, gravure, cold foil and special stacking conveyor. The new features on the FB 430 are APP (auto plate positioning), pre-register, insetting (repass), rail mounted accessories and dual web path. The press can convert unsupported film, PS label stock, IML stock, wet glue label material as well as the light carton.

Omet | Stand C26

On the Weldon stand, Omet will occupy 126 sqm to demonstrate the prowess of its iFlex flexo press four times in a day. Launched in 2015 and showcased at the Labelexpo India 2016, the Italian flexo press manufacturer claims that the iFlex has the shortest web path in narrow-web printing for savings in the start-up phase. Omet has also upgraded the iFlex since it was shown in India in 2016. Upgrades include a renewed converting section for sheeting station and the evolution of the exclusive matrix stripping unit, the Rock’n’Roll dual function. Huhtamaki, Insight Graphics, Orianaa have installed the iFlex, while the one on the show, a 10-colour all UV, is by all account sold out, only we shall know who the buyer is at the show, we reckon.

RE Equipments India | Stand N9

ReGuard MX is Re Equipments’s video inspection for 100% print inspection on the narrow web which has 25 installations in India. Launched in 2016, RE Equipment guarantees a 100% control of defects regardless of the kind of film to process, its width, the machine speed and the appearance of the material. RE Equipment says its guarantee is based on the parameters that it provides a livescan of images and real-time of quick zoom and alarm for repeated errors, which ensures high levels of quality. Plus there is an easy set-up and a touch monitor which helps production processes and converting operations maximising yield, productivity, and quality.

Shandilya Sons | Stand N15

Shandilya will showcase its improved Aniclean, an ultrasonic anilox cleaning machine, and Dotclean, a flexo letterpress plate cleaning machine. Launched at Labelexpo India 2010, the Aniclean, Shandilya claims it was the first indigenously developed anilox cleaning machine. It improved at every Labelexpo show and has 100 installations in India and neighbouring countries. At this show, Shandilya will showcase a new Anilox sleeve cleaning machine, with the ability to clean two sleeves at a time. The Dotclean was launched at the 2016 show in India and will be seen with new features. It has notched 30 installations so far.

Shavo Technologies | Stand J25

Shavo represents Meech Statis Eliminators in India and will showcase the Hyperion SmartControl, Meech’s latest innovation in connectivity technology. However, Meech’s other systems like static control and web cleaning system have been installed at companies like Avery Dennison, 3M, Webtech labels, SMI coated, Skanem Interlabels, Multitech, Nilpeter, Art O print, Mudrika Labels and many more. Static and dust can cause a high amount of rejections while producing labels. Ravi Shinde of Shavo says, “Hyperion SmartControl delivers easy, accessible equipment monitoring at all times, from a computer, tablet or mobile phone.”
