Mumbai being the financial capital of India has a high density of digital print service providers plus it has a good connectivity to other parts of India. So Mumbai was a strategic location for us to start the demo centre. We wanted to create an experience centre for customers to come and have a firsthand experience of running the machine, experiment with different media and evaluate reliability, consistency and productivity of the machines. Secondly, having a demo centre helps us spend more time with customers and explain applications, creative output and media flexibility.
Application focus
At our demo centre one can experience several wide-format applications like wall arts, affordable arts, designer suits, vehicle wraps and decals, floor graphics, wall decals, and polycarbonate labels, with which customers can maximise their profitability. Focus on applications is the key to the success for every business model. During the demo, we take the opportunity to explain visitors the success stories based on the applications and show them how applications lead to more profitability and the growth of the organisation.
Software and hardware on display
Onyx Thrive RIP, HP Latex 560, HP Latex 570, HP D 5800, HP Pagewide XL 5000 and HP Z 2600. We are planning to add few more machines like Graphtech cutting plotters, laser engravers, fibre optic lasers, textile lasers, letter bending machines, CNC routers, digital cutting, creasing and routing table and water jet cutters.
How does it work?
The demo is always conducted by pre-sales analyst who is an expert in the domain. Prior to the demo, we understand the customer expectations in terms of media, quality, colour reproduction, speed, turnaround time, durability; its pre-press and post-press set-ups. Based on the customer expectations, the analysts conduct a demo with the customer. It involves extensive sessions on pre-press RIP software and post-press finishing equipment.
How has been the market response?
We started this demo centre three years ago and more than 200 customers have visited our demo centre till date. Of these, over 95% of the customers have made machine investments after experiencing the demonstration.
Focus on skill upgradation
We conduct three types of training programme: operator upskilling; sales skill development based on applications; and business model development programme for the owners.
