 Q.  Packaged food start-up Kottaram Agro Food has forayed in the salty snacks segment for kids with the brand Soulfull Ragi Bites. Which comic brand did the Bengaluru-based brand have a tie up with?​

 A. Tinkle Comics. Hence the quirky design packaging for the baked salty snacks range. The packs come with a QR code through which kids can access entertainment and educational content.

 Q.  While the world has been reeling under salary cuts and job layoffs, whose salary rose by 2.86% to Rs 19.42 crore in 2020?

 A. FMCG major HUL CMD Sanjiv Mehta. HUL's managing director, whole-time directors and key managerial personnel together took a gross salary of Rs 37.49 crore, up 2.99 per cent from Rs 36.40 crore in 2018-19.  For FY2019-20, HUL’s net profit was up 11.48 per cent at Rs 6,756 crore, over Rs 6,060 crore in the previous year.

 A. 50 paise. Under its personal care portfolio, ITC introduced many health and hygiene products that include Nimwash vegetable and fruit wash, Savlon Hexa advanced hand sanitisers, Savlon Surface Disinfectant Spray etc.

 Q.  Which Bollywood actor had tweeted about Parle-G and requested the famous biscuit brand to opt for bio-degradable material?  ​

 A. Randeep Hooda. His tweet on 9 June said, "My whole career is fueled by chai and Parle-G since theater days. Can you imagine how much less single use plastic waste there will be if just Parle-G changed its packing to an alternate biodegradable material? Now the sales are up let’s see the contribution to a better tomorrow too". The message from Randeep Hooda has come after the company reportedly recorded the best sales in the last eight decades.

 Q.  The domestic size of this industry is USD bn 41-billion and it accounts for 10% of the global production by volume? Which industry is this?​

 A. The Indian pharma industry. The industry accounts for about 22% of the global generics market having over 550 USFDA-approved plants. Also, India accounts for 10% of global production by volume, 1.5% by value, with a potential to switch from generics to higher margin-licenced drugs.
