Labelexpo Europe 2017 | Top 10 Indian exhibitors and others

Two new presses from Multitec. Ecoflex VSi ELS is a full servo version of the Ecoflex VSi with metal sleeve/cylinder concept. The plate cylinder has been converted into a sleeve for easy mounting with no gear contact between sleeve and impression cylinder. The press also incorporates Zerobreak waste stripping technology after the die-cut unit.  Ecosmart is based on the same principles as the Ecoflex VSi but without chilled impression drums, hence suitable for PS labels and light cartons.

SMI will launch two new label stock solutions – Clear on Clear and UV cured peelable adhesive label solutions, especially for “Wet Wipes” application.  The designing of the label stock depends on type of printing, speed of dispensing unit, applied temperatures, properties of the applied surface, texture of the surface applied on, shape of the surface, size of the label and also the service temperature. SMI offers 200 SKUs with various adhesive options, which are to 22 countries.

The universal printable coated films from Cosmo are available in transparent, white and metallised variety, and are compatible with UV, water-based and solvent-based ink systems and printed with all print processes. Plus transparent films for over lamination of labels.

Perhaps the only made-in-India corona treatment system manufacturer at the show, IEEC has integrated a 4.5in colour HMI on its treating station for ease of operation and control. The Government of India award winning company's systems are CE marked.

India’s only flexible dies manufacturer will be exhibiting for the third time, the company will display a range of premium flexible dies, laser hardened flexible dies, brass and magnesium embossing blocks,  rotary dies and foiling blocks, among others.

ColorNovo
Monotech Systems | Hall 9, Stall A42

The Chennai-based Indian digital print equipment manufacturer may not run live demos but will display brochure and samples of its recently launched UV inkjet label production press, ColorNovo. Expect more additions like track and trace solution to be added.

This Aurangabad-based company in Maharashtra, India will display a range of PET films – high shrink to lidding films, to white opaque film to wet and thermal lamination. It will also show PET release liner as well as insulation films and low oligomer films.

Specialty Inks
United Specialty Inks | Hall 3, Stall E62

More than 75 years of ink making in India, the  Mumbai-based company will display its new UV flexo opaque white, jet black, specialty and security solutions in inks. The previous show, it's first, United claims, it elicited good global distributorship response.

The release liners and self adhesive label stocks has not revealed what it will be showcasing but said, it is developing a new product suitable for changes taking place in the packaging industry. Stic-On team will be present with samples and technical data sheets.

The company says, the show is an opportunity to meet existing and potential new customers as also to create new markets. And it will also show new products – Fluoro Liners, HDPE high temperature resistant liners and non-silicone Liner. 

This clear label sensor is claimed to be the "fastest ultrasonic label sensor available in the market". It has new brighter LED indicators for easy operator feedback. With an OLED display giving operator feedback to verify that the sensor is set up correctly.  The company likes to call it an iPhone of label sensors.The Tri-Tronics clear label Sensor is the only sensor with a built-in scope to see the strength of the signal when detecting clear labels.

PicoJet
Dantex Group | Hall 3, Stall A20

Following the success of their PicoColour UV Digital Label Press, Dantex will present a PicoJet digital UV inkjet press featuring speeds of 75m/min,600dpi resolution and 2.5pl dot size. Dantex has partnered with Ricoh for this development. The seven-colour printing system deploys LED curing and range of inline post-press options. PicoJet includes static control, web cleaning and corona treatment for wide choice substrate printing capability. 

Labelmaster laser system

New is the Labelmaster roll-to-roll system for label die-cutting and digital finishing. A modular system, Labelmaster is available with one to four laser heads with a throughput speed of 100 metres per minute. It can handle paper, gloss paper, PET, PP and BOPP.

The LD3500 automatically dispenses small clear labels and die-cut parts made from paper, polyester, vinyl, acetate, foam, foil, and other materials. The LD3500, with its petite design and footprint, is designed to fit easily in small work areas.

Harmony Laser technology

The 500 watt Harmony Laser can engrave metals, ceramics and polymeric with one laser. This versatile laser can be used for anilox rollers, flexo engraving, embossing, gravure, optical films, and printed electronics, all on one machine with a single laser.

C324PA modular UV inkjet device

Amica will unveil C324PA modular full-colour UV inkjet printer,  designed to sit on existing roll-to-roll transport systems like a flexo press. It comes with 12 slots to integrate printheads and pinning lamps in the customer-defined configuration.

FW Handy 2x2
Flexo Wash | Hall 7, Stall B25

FW Handy 2x2 can clean four anilox rolls in 10-15 minutes. It will be shown running with a water filtration system, for reduced consumption. The FW 993 can clean nine anilox rolls simultaneously. The PW 45WR can clean 20m of plates per hour.

Compact modules
Werosys | Hall 9, Stall C24

Werosys will showcase a several latest developments including the new automatic flexo station, a digital print engine and a laser die-cutting module, meaning that it can now configure a fully fledged label production system.

IQ Converting Scanner
Valmet | Hall 5, Stall D51

 

Valmet will launch IQ Converting Scanner. It is a one-sided scanner for direct adhesive and silicone and moisture measurement. It can be located at different points along a converting line. This enables the cross direction controls for moisture, adhesive and silicone.

Uvaflex FCM Y81
Zeller+Gmelin | Hall 11, Stall A47

The new Uvaflex FCM Y81 ink series for food packaging and labels. The formulation of the new ink series completely dispenses with BPA-containing raw materials. Uvaflex FCM Y81 colours conform with the current Nestlé Guidance Note.
