Detpak India is a member of the Detmold Group, a 70-plus-year-old multinational paper products manufacturing company catering to all global quick service restaurants (QSR) customers and others.

When did you start using HB Fuller products?
We started using the adhesives four years ago, in November 2016.

What properties of the product do you like?
Product innovation and quality, combined with technical and customer service, are probably the cornerstones of HB Fuller’s work and reputation in India and worldwide. The team holds the right expertise to provide onsite advice on machines and substrates, along with guidance on cost, quality and line efficiency optimisation.

Why did you decide to use the product?
It all started when HB Fuller’s product was recommended to us by our Asia Pacific plants in China and Australia. It has been a journey of collaboration since we began using the products in 2016 in India. It proved to work really well in our process and addressed our needs. At Detpak, being environment-friendly is part of the company strategy and central to our operations. By using HB Fuller’s adhesives, we were able to reduce wastage, improve our products’ durability and contribute to our sustainability goals. Machinability, cleanability and more efficient production lines are added benefits.

What are the features that tilted the favour in this?
We are happy with the overall performance of the Ipacoll 31PB and CW-2131. We have been using these adhesive solutions mostly for paper bag applications. The excellent combination of high wet tack and fast set speed has really tilted the scales in its favour. Leveraging these water-based adhesives provides many advantages, such as producing a more robust bag seal/closure and also improving the integrity of the final product. As we are dealing with the food industry and demanding end-consumers selecting a food-safe adhesive already certified for indirect food contact, was critical to responding to safety and compliance needs. Additionally, they provide good customer service locally.

For what applications is the HB Fuller product used?
We are using the paper-to-paper adhesion for various applications such as paper bags and paper cups.
