Me & My: Komori printing presses

Please describe your company.
We are a first-generation commercial and book printer. We have two business entities – Amit Computer Graphics in the Jhilmil Industrial Area and Shruti Printers in the Patparganj Industrial Area. We have seven Komori printing presses running in both locations. Recently, we placed the order for our eighth printing press from Komori. The new machine will be installed within a couple of months. We have the complete setup to produce all commercial jobs and books. 

When did you start using Komori?
We started our journey with Komori in 2016. Gradually, we installed seven Komori printing presses. The eighth machine will be installed soon. There is a plan to increase the Komori presses to ten.

What are the properties of Komori that you like? 
The total cost of ownership. Also, lower levels of maintenance is required. 

How are you benefiting?
We have been deploying Komori printing presses since 2016. We shifted from pre-owned to brand-new Komori presses. These machines are versatile and are capable of printing our entire product portfolio. Our customers are happy and we are growing. 

Did you look at other similar products? 
Yes, being a capital investment, we looked at other products. Since we are in the commercial-print and book-print space, we looked at one German and another Japanese manufacturer. 

What are the features that tilted the favour in this?
Efficiency and productivity. 

How much have these features helped you in your production?
The Komori presses have enabled us to produce efficiently. These machines can print almost all the substrates that our customers demand. Another feature is fast changeover time which has enabled us to produce jobs faster because most of our clients require quick deliveries. 

For what applications are the Komori presses used?
We have been deploying our seven Komori printing presses for all commercial jobs – banners, visiting cards, envelopes, letterheads, posters, leaflets, and books and magazines. 

Is there anything that you do not like or can be improved about this? 
Nothing much. Komori India has the biggest after-sales service team right now. So, there are no issues at all. 

If there’s a critical printing job that has come your way, would you rely on this to see it through?
Yes, definitely. No doubt about it. We can even run packaging jobs on these machines. 

What’s the quality like? 
For us, quality means customer satisfaction. Our customers are satisfied with the printing quality. 

How easy is it to use and handle? 
It is easy to use. Most printing press operators in our industry are trained on the shopfloor and they can run the machine perfectly. There are no fixed parameters but if you want to produce quality printing jobs, you should go for Komori. 

Would you say that it offers value for money? 
Yes, it offers value for money. That’s why, in this competitive scenario, we are going for our eighth Komori machine. The total cost of ownership is affordable. So we can say that it offers value for money. 

Who do you think is the Komori right for? 
Anyone who wants to produce good quality jobs, whatever the segment is. Komori is right for anyone who wants to shift from pre-owned to brand-new printing presses and diversify into other segments with higher configurations.
