Please describe your company.
We are one of the largest folded carton and corrugated box manufacturers in India, growing at a fast pace. Borkar Packaging is one of the few packaging companies in India having strong presence in almost every segment, cut labels, sticker labels, mono cartons, and fluted cartons and shippers. We also have a strong presence in the corrugation space. 

When did you start using Siegwerk printing ink?
We have been using Siegwerk inks and coatings for over 15 years.

What are the properties of Siegwerk ink/coating you like?
Siegwerk products are consistent in quality, which gives me peace of mind. The inks are high in strength, which helps me keep my printing wastage to minimum. Coatings though a bit expensive, it meet my stringent requirement of scuff, gloss and aesthetic looks. The one biggest plus point of Siegwerk inks is that they provide us customised products to even meet the product safety and regulatory guidelines of my customers without compromising on quality.

How are you benefiting?
Apart from product features and consistent quality, the company provides excellent application support. Its team is at my press in less than 24 hours in case I need help. Not only does it offer continuous product upgradation, my orders are also serviced within few hours after raising the purchase order. 

What are the features that tilted the favour in this?
High strength, consistent quality inks, more mileage, reduced wastages, customised and compliant products, recommended by most of brand owners.

How much have these features helped you in your production?
Apart from what I have mentioned above, these inks are user-friendly and my cost per print has come down substantially.

For what applications is Siegwerk ink/coating used?
Siegwerk products are used for mono cartons and corrugated cartons.

Is there anything you think can be improved? 
I have not faced any issue in using Siegwerk inks to date. Its product application support and supply chain management is truly world class and always have helped customising the products for my applications. The only thing that I would like it to change is the price. It’s little bit expensive vis-à-vis its closest competitors.

What’s the quality like? 
Consistent shade, virtually zero batch to batch variation. It has high strength, which means less ink on the rollers and on the print, thereby less wastage and ease of post-printing operations. The Tempo Vibrant inks are of higher strength and more importantly don’t use mineral oils and cobalt as intentionally added ingredients. These inks are compliant as per IS 15495 and FSSAI regulations for the specified intended applications.

How easy is it to use? 
The inks are very stable on the press. My operator does not have to fiddle with the ink keys and he can focus on other aspects of printing. Siegwerk inks are like ‘fit it and forget’ types.

Would you say that it offers value for money? 
Yes, Tempo Vibrant inks are, for sure, value for money inks.My cost per print has come down by a substantial amount.Print and post print wastages have drastically come down. 

Who do you think the printing ink/coating is right for? 
Folded cartons and corrugated cartons where the customer is looking for bright and sharp graphics,compliant products from regulatory point of view, good print aesthetics, luxury packaging, export jobs where specifications are stringent.

To whom would you recommend it? 
I would recommend it to those who are looking for the latest generation technology products that will not only meet the existing requirements, but also the emerging requirements in a fiercely competitive folding carton industry.
