Newgen Printronics continues to showcase its unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in the printing and packaging industry by continually delivering cutting-edge solutions and fostering robust partnerships as a trusted industry partner.
According to Venkatesh Selvaraj, managing director, Newgen Printronics, in the financial year 2024–25, Newgen expanded its portfolio with an array of advanced products and solutions, which has enabled the company to meet the evolving market demands effectively.
“Notably, we recorded an impressive 60% increase in sales compared to the previous year — a milestone driven by the steadfast trust of our customers, the dynamic growth of the market, and the relentless dedication of the Newgen Printronics team,” Selvaraj says.
As a reflection of its continued growth and vision for the future, Newgen recently relocated its office to a more spacious space at the Gee Gee Emerald in Nungambakkam. “This move underscores our commitment to scaling new heights while providing even better service and innovative solutions to our valued customers,” Selvaraj adds.
In the financial year, 2024-25, Newgen completed several landmark projects. These included the installation of a Durst RSC UV inkjet digital press at Lorven Pharmaceuticals in Puducherry; a Berhalter B6 fully automated high-precision die-punching machine at Hatsun Agro Products in Salem; Packers automated die-punching machines at Flexiprint in Srilanka and MoldTeck Packaging in Hyderabad; Pollyautomatics Label finishing system and IML converting line at KrisFlexipack in Gujarat, Kriyyon Containers in Mysore, and Shivam Polymers in Raipur; Pollyautomatics multiple sleeve cone forming machine at Kapcones in Bengaluru, and Crystal Food in Puducherry; Heaford semi-automated plate mounters at ITC in Chennai, Sai packaging in Faridabad and Pioneer Arunachalam Packaging in Chennai and Lundberg Waste Management system at Maruthi Graphics in Nepal, among others.
Product portfolio
Selvaraj says, “The market response to our core product portfolio has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting our commitment to quality and innovation. Our range of solutions, including cutting-edge printing technologies, have resonated well with our customers' evolving needs. The combination of advanced technology and exceptional after-sales support has strengthened our position as a preferred partner for printing and packaging solutions.”
This year, Newgen Printronics added two global names to its portfolio — HMJ Tech (Canada) and Soprin (Germany). According to Selvaraj, the partnerships with HMJ Tech and Soprin stem from a shared vision to bring world-class technologies to the Indian market. “These collaborations enable us to address specific gaps in the printing and packaging industry and offer our customers unparalleled precision, efficiency, and quality in their operations,” he adds.
HMJ Tech’s ink dispensing systems are designed to enhance colour accuracy and optimise ink utilisation. In the Indian market, where efficiency and quality are paramount, Selvaraj says, these systems fill a crucial gap by reducing waste and ensuring consistency across production runs. It’s a significant step forward for printers aiming to achieve international standards.
On the other hand, the Dotscope from Soprin is a state-of-the-art quality control tool that enhances precision in print and packaging processes. By providing real-time analysis and feedback, it empowers manufacturers to detect and correct inconsistencies promptly. This innovation aligns with Newgen’s mission to support customers in delivering impeccable quality products.
Quality control
Now, Newgen Printronics is planning to establish QC labs focused on the labels and flexible packaging sectors.
Selvaraj says. “Our vision for the QC labs is to create a centre of excellence that supports the labels and flexible packaging sectors. This lab will serve as a hub for innovation, enabling customers to achieve consistent quality and meet international standards. By providing access to advanced testing and training facilities, we aim to empower our clients to stay ahead in a competitive market.”
He said the QC labs will be open for labels and flexible packaging customers. They will be equipped with state-of-the-art machinery for testing and analysis, including tools for colour accuracy, material durability, and print consistency. “Our goal is to provide a comprehensive suite of services that cater to the diverse needs of the printing and packaging industry,” he adds.
Selvaraj believes that the print and packaging industry is ready to embrace advanced quality control in a more structured way. “With increasing demand for high-quality products and growing awareness of international standards, the Indian print and packaging industry is well-positioned to adopt advanced quality control measures. At Newgen Printronics, we are committed to supporting this transition by providing cutting-edge technologies and expert guidance,” he explained.
Looking ahead
For FY 2025–26, Newgen’s focus will be on expanding its presence in emerging markets and strengthening its partnerships with global leaders. “We also plan to explore new technology segments, such as AI-driven printing solutions and sustainable packaging innovations, to stay at the forefront of industry trends,” Selvaraj says.
He concludes that Newgen Printronics is positioning itself as a leader in the Indian print-packaging ecosystem by embracing automation and advanced quality control standards. Our portfolio of innovative solutions, combined with our commitment to customer-centricity, ensures that we remain a trusted partner for businesses navigating this dynamic landscape.
