PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? June 2020 issue available now - The Noel D'Cunha Sunday Column

While the country is still facing the challenges of the pandemic and the lockdown, this is the third month in the row where we have been working and creating more than hundred pages remotely.

The cover story - PrintWeek survey - found that with a cash crunch, no jobs in the market and with little help from the government, the print companies are left with drawing up their own strategies to lift themselves from effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The survey with 123 respondents examined the effects of the economic lockdown, and was conducted from 25 March to 30 April.

In the Tech Talk section, PrintWeek highlights seven-film firms who have displayed tremendous ingenuity in product development at the time of crisis, from producing wedding cards, masks and face shields to manufacturing PPEs.

In other Covid-19 related features, we have the story how India Post helped combat the lockdown; a special write-up on the publishing scenario by Thomas Abraham of Hachette India, and interviews with industry leaders on their takes on the crisis.
