What does the machine do?
The Sprint is a compact flexographic printing press that delivers quality print on a variety of flexible materials up to a width of 1.250-mm. The Sprint has eight inking units that can be operated with water-based or solvent-based inks. It features Allsteins unique A RUN 2.0 technology for quick set-up and is designed for easy access and quick job changeover times.
Which are the different models?
The Sprint comes in one model with width of 900-, 1,100- and 1,300-mm and is available with a maximum repeat up to 800-mm. Adaptations can be made based on individual requirements.
Is there anything in the machine which is available as standalone, if the press is modular?
No machine parts are sold as standalone. However, Allstein prides itself on being able to offer individual solutions and can provide all kinds of special solutions on request.
When was the printing press launched?
The Sprint was launched in 2021.
What was the thought process when the press was conceived?
Smaller packaging runs place completely new demands on production: instead of high running speeds, fast job changes determine productivity. Compact machines that are easy to set up are in demand here. They produce such jobs profitably and with short delivery times, overtaking high- volume systems in terms of productivity.
In order to meet the conditions of the market, we have launched the Sprint model series. After almost ten years of successfully building and selling machines from the Hydro product series, which set absolute standards in the market in terms of speed and for longer running times or wide webs, we also want to offer a convincing product for small and medium runs.
What is the target market(s)?
The primary target markets of the Sprint are food and non-food packaging for fresh and frozen foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals, snacks and confectionery, dairy products and shopping bags. The size, security and usability make the Sprint a suitable product for the Indian market.
What kind of substrates can it handle?
The machine can handle all common kinds of film, including thinner substrates, as well as laminates.
How fast is it?
The Sprint runs at a maximum speed of 400-m/min. On top of it, perfect accessibility to the printing units and technical solutions such as A RUN 2.0 ensure that Sprint is unrivalled in terms of job changeover times, making it even faster.
What is the USP of the press?
The Sprint series offers extreme stability and rigidity from the ground up. This is achieved through a solid steel base structure and the proven Allsteinslideway technology. Outstanding changeover times, excellent print quality, easy handling of the press, small footprint of under 50-sqm, user-friendliness through optimised design are the main USPs.
What training and support are on offer?
The machine is installed, commissioned and prepared for production release by our team at the company site. We train the company personnel in the course of this. For Allstein customers, we offer services directly from the manufacturer for highest production safety, maintenance and repair or refurbishment of the machine.
We are aware that a flexographic printing press is a complicated technical system where problems can occur despite all efforts and precautions. This makes it all the more important that our customers are helped as quickly as possible if this situation should arise. That’s why we offer a free 24/7 service hotline with direct dialling to a trained Allstein technician. This service is valid for the entire lifetime of the product.
How does A RUN 2.0 help?
With our register and impression system A RUN 2.0, the Sprint becomes even easier to use. A RUN is not just a mounting machine or a sensor in a sleeve, it is much more than that. A RUN is an offline process that automatically calculates the perfect settings for register and impression.
How easy is it to use?
Productivity was at the heart of the Sprint product design. The positioning of the operating elements in the centre of the machine follows the concept of short distances. All processes to be carried out on the machine were taken into account in the design to make them as efficient as possible. One operator can thus operate the entire machine; no steps or lifting platforms are necessary to reach the relevant parts of the machine. This makes for very time-saving and safe work.
How much does it cost?
Price upon request, depending on specifications.
Users’ numbers worldwide? How many do you expect to increase in 2022-2023?
Six Sprints are installed right now. We expect to increase that number next year.
