Micro-Huber promotes ‘safety first’ with Gecko launch
Micro Inks-Huber Group launched the Gecko line of flexible packaging inks in India at twin events held in Mumbai and Noida on 20 and 21 March 2015 respectively, in the presence of Huber top brass from Germany and Italy, and the local printing community and print buyers.
Following the launch, Micro Huber has started production of the Gecko series of inks at the expanded facility in its Vapi plant.
Aimed especially at the food packaging segment, the series of inks under the brand name Gecko (which is a species of lizard, hence the brand logo of a colourful lizard) are free from hazardous and toxic chemicals like toluene and ketone. Gecko inks are already well established in Europe, and with this launch from India, Gecko will be made available globally.
Heidelberg's CS 92 and Linoprint launched at Print China
Heidelberg made a favorable impression in the recently concluded Print China 2015 exhibition held at Dongguan City, Guangdong from 7 to 12 April, 2015, with the successful launch of the Speedmaster CS 92 offset press.

Bolt RB 104: Notebook from paper reel
The newly launched fully automatic exercise book machine from Line O Matic, Bolt RB 104, has been designed to make soft cover staple pin exercise notebook online from the paper reel.
Pratham’s Supersort: Inspection system for pharma cartons
On the first day of PrintPack, Pune-based Pratham Technologies launched Supersort, an inspection system especially designed for the inspection of printed cartons for the pharmaceutical industry.
Datta Deshpande, owner, Pratham, said, "Supersort is a 100% carton inspection and sorting system for folding cartons. We have developed this machine in collaboration with Vision Experts, wherein the software and illumination system is made in Germany while feeder, inspections conveyor, ejector and other transport systems are manufactured by Pratham in Pune.
Swifts diversifies with VDP launch
The Nashik-based manufacturer commemorated the Diamond Jubilee milestone with the launch of VDP mini machine on 12 April at Shree Krishna Banquet Hall, Nashik.
During the PrintPack 2015 Swifts diversified into digital printing with the launch of two variable data printing machines: VDP Max and VDP Compact.
Om Marathe, incharge of business development at Swifts, said, “The Swifts VDP is a combination press with piezoelectric inkjet head plus a bulking system and our traditional offset technology.”
