The graphic design and print community from Mumbai and indeed other parts of the country were welcomed to The Taj in Mumbai. Representing the mill from Italy were Geovanni Gilberti, Marc Geelen and Philippe Virey  and the entire Sona team including Subash Rai, Sanjay Suneja, Raju Suneja and Shyam Suneja.

This cocktail reception was a well-attended evening with lots of print samples on display; most of it printed and produced by Indian print firms. The highlight of the evening was a preview of Cordenons’ two new grades of paper for India called: Art Nouveau and Wild.

Subash Rai, channel partner, Sona Mumbai, said, "Wild is a natural fibred, creamy white sheet which will be available in four weights. Wild’s unique characteristics are its high bulk feather weight and excellent printability.  A captivating combination of nature in complete balance with art, it is sure to be the next 'IT' paper."

According to Rai, Art Nouveau is every living being's fascinating story; it is nature's surprising skill to adjust to new conditions and requirements just like Art Nouveau from Gruppo Cordenons, a natural paper with a pleasant touch, high degree of whiteness, good opacity, rigidity, thickness and easy to print, ready to transform itself and give a feel comparable to a coated paper."

The evening was a success because there was a message from Ferruccio Gilberti  read out by his son Geovanni Gilberti for the Indian print industry which spoke about how the 350-year old company's commitment of creating high quality, fine Italian paper for the Indian market.

Gruppo Cordenons includes two paper mills in Italy. Both mills have been producing paper with a reputation for excellence, for centuries. As the fourth generations scion of Gilberti family pointed out, "The Cordenons mill continued its reputation of producing the highest quality fine paper for centuries when, in 1984, the mill was purchased by its current owners, the Gilberti family."
