Tech gyaan on catalogues

The Nirali Trends catalogue has a unique mix of range of coloured foils used for hot foil stamping, a range of substrates and lots of innovative value additions. Silverpoint Press describes the catalogue as ‘Kaleidoscope of foils and value additions.’ 

The text pages are printed on 170gsm Transasia Sensation Artist Bright White paper on a Heidelberg CD 102 four-colour press. The 250gsm paperboard was used for dividers which included Sun CC008; Sundance Ultra White Felt; Neenah Classic Laid Bright White etc. while the cover was printed on Fedrigoni Old Mill Bianco paper. 

The first text page is decorated with spot UV using screen printing process; foil-stamping and embossing. Also, each divider is uniquely designed using different techniques such as die-cutting, multi-colour hot foil stamping, thread fabrication, back-to-back pasting, case galley making, rivet fixing, spot UV, texture, glitter etc. 

The text pages are folded, collated and section sewn and dividers are tipped in. The catalogue is section sewn and perfect bound with the cover. 

300 copies of the catalogues were printed on Heidelberg CD 102 press while Agfa Apogee workflow and GMG colour management handled the pre-press activity. 
 

The catalogue produced for GM-Modular titled as ‘More Ideas on your Wall’ is a well designed and executed job. Again diverse range of substrates were used for the job which included 150gsm Zanders Medley velvet matt finish paper for text pages; 350gsm Invercote card for cover; and 375gsm Sun Nero Black card for the tray which holds the catalogue and 300gsm matt card for sleeve. 

The text pages are printed on Heidelberg LX five-colour press with inline matt aqueous coating to add contrast to the spot UV done using screen printing process. The tray is die-cut, folded and fabricated which slides into the sleeve. “Very elegantly packaged catalogue,” comments Silverpoint Press. 

 

The Godrej Locks product catalogue has different security lock presented categorically with dividers for quick reference. 250gsm Leykam matt card is used for text pages while 170gsm Leykam matt paper is used for jacket and cover. The 350gsm Leykam matt dividers are index die-cut and collated along text pages. According to Silverpoint Press, the entire concept for easy and quick reference is very well executed in the job.  

The entire catalogue is wiro-bound and fitted to the cover and the jacket is creased and overdrawn onto the hard case cover. 

 

Mudra Life/Luxury/Prosperity catalogue for Beaumach Designs also uses different substrates and techniques like embossing, foil stamping to make the product decorative and unique. 

The text pages are printed on 120gsm Metallic Shimmer Gold paper using Heidelberg LX five-colour press while dividers are printed on 70gsm Sun Wooly paper using screen printing process and decorated with hot foil stamping. The 285gsm Stardream Antique Gold paper cover is hot foil stamped and embossed. 

Silverpoint Press describes it as ‘simple yet sober.’
