Micro Inks-Huber Group: The largest ink manufacturer in India
Since the acquisition and integration of Micro Inks (now Hubergroup India) in 2006 into the Hubergroup family, the Vapi plant has remained a major production centre for the Gecko series, UV cured inks and the MGA series. The Micro Inks-Huber Group launched the Gecko line of flexible packaging inks in India a year ago in March 2015. The production of the Gecko series of inks is handled at the expanded facility in its Vapi plant., Business

This year marks Huber Group’s 250 years of existence, 25 years of Micro Ink and 10 years of Micro-Huber partnership
The Rosin Melter at Vapi
The three resin plant tank farm at Vapi plays a big role
The Resin reactors and the R&D in pigments catapults the company into being the largest ink manufacturer in India
Resin flaker and silos which make Hubergroup with a valuation of more than USD 1bn as the sixth-largest ink supplier in the world
ISC reactor and ISC flushers which is the backbone to Huber's initiative to ensure regulatory compliance which is prevalent in Europe, including the Swiss Ordinance, EuPIA guidelines and Nestle guidelines, among others
The ISC filteration and the spic and span packing area
The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy combined with chemometrics is utilised to discriminate the presence of lard in extracted ink for printed food packaging
Rheometer is a handy tool. As readers of PWI know, paper is concerned with the experimental ability to measure viscoelasticity of low viscosity ink jet fluids and demonstrates the capability of both a piezo axial vibrator and torsion resonator rheometer to capture high frequency rheological data for both model and commercial ink jet fluids. Results are presented for polymer and particle laden suspensions together with a commercial ink. The data can be captured using rheometers
The Inkometer provides data on the tack and length of ink. Also it permits you to compare different inks, so you can evaluate new inks as well as maintain quality control in your press production
IGT Testing Systems has acquired a reputation for conducting tests on different substrates and inks in quality control and research
The GPC system provides high-precision data for all types of measurements due to its micro delivery
Extracted inks are analyzed by HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography). Significant changes in composition are noted on exposure to light
The Gas chromatography (GC) system can be used to detect any volatile organic ingredients that might be present in the inks
The effluent treatment plant which monitoring data on a hour by hour basis, and meticulous effluent discharge
Effluent treatment plant at Vapi which was once rated at the most polluted industrial cluster in India
Effluent treatment bio reactor which treats the pollutants before the effluent is released into the river. The program is monitored by Vapi Waste and Effluent Management Company, and promoted by the Vapi Industries Association
Effluent clarifier tank at Huber. Interestingly enough, Vapi has a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (or CETP). This is the largest of its kind in Asia and one of India's biggest effluent treatment plants in terms of capacity
