Autoprint's managing director C N Ashok spoke about the need for an inspection system and its 'make in India' concept behind the Checkmate 50
Held at the Waterstones hotel in Mumbai, the event saw K G Suresh, joint managing director at Autoprint, explain the technicalities and design behind the Checkmate 50 system
The camera technology and software support is by Lucid Imaging, Bangalore. Anand Chinnaswamy, managing director of Lucid Imaging explained the positioning of the camera, and what it does. He also explained how the software ensures good defect detection sensitivity while maintaining high production yield and repeatability
The event saw convertors from Mumbai attending the event. Surendra Tulsiyan, director at Bhiwandi-based Paramount Arts and Prints which has completed the installation of the inspection system shared his experience at the event
The event concluded with the Autoprint team taking questions raised by the converters about the various possibilities and abilities of the Checkmate 50 system
With an aim to educate its customer, Bobst conducted a day-long seminar on best practices on die-cutting at the Hotel Waterstone in Andheri, Mumbai on 19 November 2015. The event commenced with Sameer Joshi, head-Bobst Services centre welcoming the guests
The key speaker of the event was Moreno Gidhini, head of Bobst SA competence center in Switzerland. He shared the various guidelines for the die-making process and how one can increase the productivity and quality with these guidelines
Joy Verghese of Bobst explained the various product offerings from the company, for example, the platen conditioning kit, he said is to ensure the machines are in the best of conditions
During the event, Sachin Mahajan, trainer at Bobst India advocates the importance of training and generating skilled workforce

Packaging gets a quality and training check – glimpses of two events in Mumbai

With the packaging industry growing at the rate of around 15 percent there is an increasing stress on the role of an inspection system in the industry.
