Media Expo 2013, which was held from 27-29 July at Pragati Maidan, Delhi, saw a footfall of 22,000 visitors. In addition to several new launches, the show also offered an insight on the new trends and niche segments of the signage and advertising industry.

During the three days of the advertising and signage exhibition, over 22,000 visitors were welcomed by a fair mix of machines and consumables manufacturers, and few printing service providers
The principal reason why Media Expo Delhi could secure good number of visitors was its proximity to wide-format printing and signage hubs like Paharganj and Jhandewala
There are around 1000-plus signage printers in Delhi NCR, of which around 20% utilise mid and high-end equipment to deliver solutions. The rest 80% of the market is scattered between mid-and entry-level printers and jobbers
Apart from the fact that three print service providers at the show were HP latex customers, wallpaper and vehicle printing segment in general shows signs of traction

Padmakar Ojhale, country head for India region at Fujifilm: We have two installation of Fujifilm Acuity LED 1600. In the coming two months we will be able to complete another four installations
Colorjet India displayed its direct to fabric printer, Softjet. It can print up to 645 sq/ft in an hour using dye sublimation direct ink and has a maximum printing width of 72.5inch
UV Printers displayed UV flatbed large format printers from its principal partners Dilli Korea, at the show. It also displayed an array of applications possible using the technology
Mohan KT of UV Printers: In tough times, when the raw material costs and shortages have been troubling the industry, a move towards digitisation is a good strategy
Max Flex & Imaging Systems, the printing consumables specialist launched Max Wall-Print Media. Hitesh Jobalia, managing director, Max Flex claims it’s a unique material with unsurpassable strength and outstanding tear and puncture resistance
Roland and Apsom Infotex targeted the market with the 64inch Roland Versaart RA 640 and XF 640 printer. A team of experts discussed and gave demonstrations about print applications possible on the machine
Roland Versaart RA 640 is equipped to produce droplets of seven different sizes and has a maximum resolution of 1,440dpi
Roland also conducted live demonstrations to explain a range of wide-format printing applications possible on its Soljet Pro4 XF-640 and Soljet Pro XR-640
Ravi Agarwala of Apsom Infotex: We have a target of at least 500 machines by the end of March 2014. We have installed more than 100 machines. We are on target
