Plastivision 2013: The window to plastic packaging
Plastivision 2013, the ninth edition of the show, experienced five busy days with over 1,00,000 visitor footfall

Polygraph Printing Technologies demonstrated its Ecoflex series of flexographic printing presses. The machine was sold to SVP Packaging
Sidel, the global provider of PET solutions for liquid packaging, is upbeat about the aseptic PET packaging. Laurent Fournier, country director, Sidel India, "Sidel has over 70 installations of aseptic packaging lines for dairy products worldwide and we see huge opportunities in India."
Mumbai-based Mudrika Labels showcased Heat Transfer Labels (HTL) and inmould labels. According to Manish Desai of Mudrika, the current trend is that print buyers are seeking labels which fuse with the container; hence they are bullish about the two technologies
Scanvik Packaging marked its presence with a basket of solutions for flexo units, ranging from plate mounting systems, rubber rollers, sleeves anilox rollers to cleaning systems. The company represents European manufacturers such as Rossini, Hudson-Sharp, Bieffebi, and Simec among others
Unique UV launched a new product, which coats 3D objects with UV varnish. The machine grabbed eyeballs

The highlight of BST Sayona's stall was BST Q Centre automatic print defect detection system, which combines a variety of quality assurance tasks in one user interface
BST also displayed Premius Digital 3Chip web inspection and print process management system, which allows complete control over defect detection and colour monitoring at the same time
Navi Mumbai-based Divide By Zero Technologies unveiled Accucraft S150 3D printer. Swapnil Sansare (l), founder of the company, said, "The machine accepts design inputs from any CAD software and uses ABS thermoplastic polymer to extrude plastic layers to form a 3D object."
The 3D printer can produce objects of size up to 160x160x160mm. It can cater to a range of applications in rapid prototyping for bottle industry, tool makers, mould making for candles, cup-cakes etc. It is the first made-in-India 3D printer
Mamta Machinery, specialists in bag and pouch making machines conducted live demonstrations of its Vega range of plastic bag making machines

Spread across six halls and two hangars of Bombay Exhibition Centre covering 75,000 sq/m area, the 9th Plastivision 2013 boasted of 1,500 exhibitors and over 1,00,000 visitor footfall. The five-day exhibition, which concluded on 16 December, can be rightly described as the window to plastic packaging technology. PrintWeek India's presents a pictorial tour to the show.
