When PrintWeek India's Anand Srinivasan and Rushikesh Aravkar visited three print firms - Webtech, Rmoss, Print House - in Navi Mumbai, one thing was clear: Print CEOs are exploring new opportunities, investing in equipment, expanding, experimenting and re-strategising.

The label specialist Webtech Labels has added capacity with the installation of two new Gidue M3 and M5 presses in the last one year making the tally of narrow-web presses at Webtech to stand at 15, six of which are Gidue
Amar Chhajed announces that its new plant in Hyderabad will go live by the end of October
Its sister concern Webtech Industries, which is led by Ajay (in the picture) and Jitesh Chhajed, focuses on the pharma sector with Heidelberg and Komori presses
A two-colour Komori Lithrone and a Vijuk folding machine, which is capable of producing over 238 panel outserts make Webtech a specialist in pharma outserts
Bobst folder-gluer and a Codemat inspection system are deployed for post-printing operation of pharma cartons
Rmoss is an emerging player in the Navi Mumbai's print sector. It was established in January 2012 by four young partners, Anurag Dwivedi, Bhavin Bhalavat, Sunil Khanduri and Rakesh Dharavat

Rmoss has installed two pre-owned web presses – a six-colour Mitsubishi heatset and a Manugraph coldset press, and a pre-owned Komori six-colour sheetfed press
A quarter-fold attachment from Heidelberg Harris combined with the Mitsubishi web press enables faster turnaround for magazines
Rmoss has recently put in to service a Kodak CTP platesetter. It consumes 2000 plates in a month

Print House's Nandu Hendre (r): Due to digitisation, the print runs are constantly decreasing plus there is tough competition even from smaller players. We are, therefore, exploring packaging as an avenue to diversify
On the ground floor, Print House has two new Heidelberg CD 74 to facilitate quality packaging jobs. Print House has five sheetfed presses in all which can print up to 4,80,000 impressions in a day
As a part of its expansion plans Print House has invested in a packaging set-up, which includes a pre-owned Bobst die-cutter
It has also comissioned a pre-owned Bobst Fuego folder-gluer
Mastering the quality with in-house manual inspection and QC of folded cartons
Print House uses the Superfold folding machine from Pune-based Pratham Technologies. It is an ideal outsert system for pharmaceutical printers
