“Supporting the PrintWeek India Awards was always on the cards," says Dr Alok Bharadwaj

Canon India is sponsoring the PrintWeek India Awards, for the fourth time in succession. Alok Bharadwaj, senior vice president at Canon India, made the announcement at the Canon stall in Drupa: “Celebrating the accomplishments of those who contribute to the success of India’s printing industry is vital.”

Bharadwaj added, “We also believe that the Indian print service providers must showcase their print capabilities to the all important print buyers. And these Awards help share those experiences that combine their ability with their clients to find the most appropriate solution.”

PrintWeek India launched the fourth edition of the Awards – PrintWeek India Awards 2012 in March. The Awards, an annual hunt to find print’s brightest and best companies and rising stars, have been billed as more than ‘just a piece of trophy in your showcase’ by past winners. Printers from across the country are invited to enter.

In 2011, PrintWeek India Awards saw an ensemble of 407 entries with 1,632 samples from 137 print firms – a record number, which were judged by an enthusiastic 30-member jury, an independent panel drawn from wide-spectrum of print buyers, professionals and designers. The judges had a difficult task in selecting both the shortlisted and winning businesses.

“It was quite impressive to see the response as well as the standard of printing at PrintWeek India Awards,” said Rajive Rao, national creative director, O&M and a member of the jury, whose Vodafone Zoozoos campaign outgunned two of the most passionate topics in India – cricket and Bollywood.
