“This is an exciting time in the technology world when changes are happening at an incredible pace and some of the important trends we are observing are content explosion using cloud computing, print is embracing mobile technology, print is becoming social and print is going green,” said Nigro.
Elaborating on how print is becoming more personal and special, Nigro said, “One of the many examples is education where print is important for learning. In years to come we will experience a blend of digital content for dynamic and interactive learning and physical content personalised to you.”
Nigro also highlighted HP’s Graphics Solutions Business products such as Indigo digital presses, HP Color Inkjet web presses and HP Latex printers. He added, “HP Indigo has more than 50% market-share and page volume for Indigo customers. This has nearly doubled from 2009 to 2012. Also, we have greater than 50% market share in high-end industrial printers led by FB7600.”
Followed by Nigro’s keynote address, Gido van Praag, vice president and general manager, Graphics Solutions Business, HP Asia Pacific and Japan, shared about how HP’s portfolio has contributed to the success of print firms from Asia-Pacific. He said, “One such firm is Mumbai-based Mazda Imaging, which was the early adopters of Indigo in India and is doing extremely innovative work in photo business. Also, they have installed India’s first Indigo 10000.”
The conference highlighted workshops, 30 solutions partners, educational sessions, and deep–dive sessions. The two-day conference was attended by more than 1000 customers and saw more than 50 HP Indigo customers share their experiences at the Dscoop platform.
