Two-day digital print workshop at Avinashilingam University

The Department of Printing Technology, Avinashilingam University and USAM Technology Solution, an HP Indigo business partner, and Redington India in Chennai, jointly conducted a two-day technical workshop about digital printing for the third year students from Bachelor of Engineering in Printing Technology on 11 and 12 February 2016.

The objective of the workshop was to create awareness among the students about digital print technology along with a focus on the theory of the process and practically working on the press.
 
The first session of the workshop was presented by A Arulmozhi, assistant professor at Avinashilingam University, who provided an introduction to digital printing. Later, Arulmozhi highlighted the points about the substrates and ink for digital print.
 
The next topic of the day was HP Indigo digital presses and its features, which was presented by V Janaki Raman, general manager, Redington India.
 
Day one concluded with a session conducted by S Sridharan, DGM sales, USAM, who spoke about women entrepreneurship in India.
 
On the second day of the workshop, the students visited the facilities of Glo Digital Press and Savithri Digital Print Press in Coimbatore.
