“The new 4.5-inch touch panel HMI has an operator-friendly interface with an inbuilt display module. All the parameters like the running time of corona, the downtime analysis, troubleshooting are inbuilt in this system.”

The new corona system offers a variety of intelligent controls such as auto watt density control, data logging, trends, troubleshooting with pictorial solutions etc.

Talking about corona treatment as an integral part of label production, Deshpande said, “In India, there’s a general lack of awareness about the significance of corona treatment. It is only when one of the job fails in the tape test or any other mandatory test procedures that they realise the need of having a corona treatment system.”

According to Deshpande, every label must undergo corona treatment before printing. “The corona treatment safeguards the print quality and ensures perfect ink adhesion. At the same time, when you have a corona treatment system, you are not dependent on the quality of the ink and the substrate as far as the ink adhesion is concerned.”

IEEC also offers a universal corona treatment system that is equipped with ceramic electrodes. It can treat both conductive as well as non-conductive substrates be it aluminium foils, metallised or non-metallised films, or any other substrate.

The 48-year-old IEEC is an OEM supplier of corona systems to Nilpeter and Multitec.
