Besides corona treatment, the company also manufactures plasma treatment systems. At the Labelexpo Europe in 2015, IEEC introduced an operator console for its corona equipment, which allows the operator to see the fault tripping and control the whole station.

Rohit Deshpande, director at IEEC, said, “The IEEC’s narrow-web corona treatment system has performed and been accepted widely by many domestic and international flexo press manufacturers and label converters.”

The 46-year old company has 50+ installation across the world. “With this India Design Mark 2016 awards, we have earned a niche in the printing and surface adhesion market.”

According to Deshpande, there are issues like incoming material having low dyne level (surface adhesion) or dyne level of material on the shelf decreasing due to material handling; or the necessity for using top coated materials which have been chemically altered in order to obtain high surface adhesion for inks.

“On the one side, to ensure productivity at maximum speed on low dyne material, you need corona treatment before printing, while on the other side corona treatment of regular material will eliminate the need to use top coated material, saving on production cost,” said Deshpande.

IEEC manufactures corona treatment equipment in 10-, 13, and 19-inch width, and can further scale it up to 900-mm for flexo, and beyond 900-mm in a different design for other applications. It also has solutions for dual side corona treatment in compact models.
