The award-winning film is a “worthy alternative” to thin aluminium foil and sealant webs used in flexible packaging.

The film is designed for use as the principal barrier-and-sealing layer of the packaging structure. It exhibits two functional surfaces. The outside surface of the film bears a thin layer of aluminum metal while the inside surface has the characteristics of high heat-seal strength with very low seal initiation temperature.

This single-web film will enable packaging technologists to simplify packaging structures and reduce the weight of packaging.
According to Max, “The oxygen transmission of this film is 100 times lower than that of standard metallised OPP film. Thus it can replace aluminium foil and metallised PET in packaging structures.”

In addition to this, the film is said to exhibit lustrous metallic effect coupled with the white background of the cavitated-white film.

“The innovation has resulted in conversion of a three-layer packaging structure into two layers. The customer had been using the combination of aluminum foil and PE as the barrier-and-sealing layer of packaging structure, which has been replaced by this newly developed product.”
