Well-suited for packaging of free-flowing bulk solids, the Topas SL has already seen more than 400 installations worldwide for typical applications like packaging of resin pellets, fertilizer, food and non-food products, salts, chemical products and minerals among others.

Rakesh Shah, managing director, W&H India, said, “Earlier versions of Topas have seen four big ticket installations in India.”

“The Topas SL differentiates itself conceptually and in many details from its predecessor, starting with the significantly improved accessibility offered through the open frame structure and the large, transparent safety doors. Thanks to its compact construction, the mobile Topas SL can be easily moved from one silo to the next to fill different products,” said Shah.

The company also highlighted its new Vistaflex CX 2200mm wide eight-colour CI flexo press. The demonstrations of the machine can be availed at its headquarters in Lengerich.

According to Shah, since 1997, the company has installed 12 CI flexo presses in India. Among the recent installations in last one year, two Miraflex flexo machines have been commissioned by Pune-based Parekh Agro and Mumbai-based Propack.

Shah said, “More than 65% of films used for oil packaging in India are produced and printed on W&H machines. So, W&H customers dominate this segment of packaging.”

Shah informed PrintWeek India about the W&H installations in India in the last six months. These include three-layer blown film line at the Daman-based Mehta Metro Polythene, a five-layer barrier cast film line at Chhatral-based Technovaa and a seven-layer blown film lines at Kolkata-based Kalpena Industries, among others.
