"Irrespective of the anti-dumping duty, I would expect a good quality plate"

"Anti-dumping is good if you are a patriot. It is a good initiative for creating a self sustaining economy in a country like India. From a business point of view, if the governement implements  anti-dumping duty it should simultaneously consider the fact that the industry is at the mercy of a single Indian manufacturer of a so-called digital plates and there is aneed of multiple vendor choice.

"Even if the anti-dumping duty gets implemented the Indian government should invite any plate manufacturers, Indian or global to put up a plant in India and welcome them with a red carpet instead of a red tape. This will provide the printers with a broad spectrum and an option of price and quality to choose from. When I had been to All in Print China exhibition, there were 50-60 Chinese manufacturers of PS plates providing products at a range of 2.5 US dollars per sq/mtr to 3.6 US dollars per sq/mtr.

"From a printer's point of view, irrespective of the anti-dumping duty, I would expect a good quality plate from the Indian manufacturer. In this case I get the quality I require say at Rs 300 from the Indian subsidaries of principal companies who import the material. Whereas the Indian maufacturer is unable to provide  the same quality at that price. Obviously, my preference would not be towards the Indian manufacturer.

"From a manufacturer's point of view, Transtech manufactures conventional PS plates. It would be great if the anti-dumping duty is levied, giving us a chance to sustain."
