The high-speed Prosper Ultra 520, which uses Kodachrome Inks, will be printing various high-quality applications at full production speeds of up to 152 mpm (500 fpm) on a range of substrates live every day, highlighting new business opportunities printers can pursue with Kodak continuous inkjet.
The Prosper Ultra 520 is driven by the Kodak 900 Print Manager and integrated with the Kodak Prinergy workflow platform. It will run alongside the newly launched Kodak-manufactured pre- and post-finishing solutions.
Kodak will showcase the Prinergy platform as a future-proof workflow solution. “This solution integrates digital and analogue printing processes, serving as a central hub of a smart print factory,” the Kodak statement said. Attendees will learn about the latest Prinergy version 11.0.
Kodak is celebrating 20 years of Kodak Sonora process-free plates this year. At Drupa, industry partner Koenig & Bauer (K&B) (at Hall 16/A31-1 – A31-5) will use Sonora plates to print on Rapida presses at the show. K&B will also use a Kodak Magnus platesetter with T-Speed Plus and a multi-pallet loader to image Sonora Plates. Kodak stated that this is the fastest 8-up CTP system and uses Prinergy workflow software.
In 2022, Kodak informed PrintWeek that there are 6,000 users worldwide, and approximately a hundred users in India have joined Kodak’s Sonora club.
Besides, K&B, Komori Corporation (Hall 15/E02), and Ryobi MHI Graphic Technology (RMGT, Hall 16/E11) will also run live print demonstrations on sheetfed offset presses with Sonora plates
Jim Continenza, Kodak's Executive Chairman and CEO, emphasised that Kodak's offerings can help printers increase their efficiency and profitability in the current print era. “Printers need modern and highly automated solutions for traditional offset and innovative digital technology to succeed in the market and serve their customers comprehensively. Kodak offers both of these services from a single source.”
