Heartstopper for Hachette (4,000 copies) is a black-and-white graphic novel printed on 65-gsm Maplitho paper. What sets it apart is the matt lamination and foiling on the 135-gsm art paper. The foiling was especially challenging as it covered the entire length of the book.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas for HarperCollins (4,500 copies) comes with a slipcase with foiling on it. The text pages on 120-gsm Maplitho paper are printed with black and Pantone Warm Red. Post-press operations include varnish and gold foil.
I am Gita for Aatman (25,000) features post-press operations such as soft-touch lamination, foiling, spot UV and embossing.
The standout feature of Fourth Wing for Hachette (4,000) is the edge gilding with golden dragons in a black background, highlighting the book’s theme. This was achieved through screen printing. Other post-press operations included gold foil on PLC and, gloss gold foil, and matte lamination on the jacket.
Special Jury Mention
Indigo Press (India) (Mumbai)
Indigo Press received a Special Jury Mention for Pranjul Priyanka Vol 25 (1,500 copies). It has been printed by 200 screen ruling. The front cover has gold metPET with UV printing. Pranjul Priyanka Vol 26 (1,000 copies) features post-press embellishments, such as velvet lamination, raised UV, spot UV, blind embossing, tracing with four hot foil stamping and gloss UV coating. Special features for Pranjul Priyanshi Vol 27 and Vol 28 included flap cover matt lamination, raised UV, laser cutting and acrylic logo pasting.
