X-Rite adds Percept as its South India distributor

Percept Printing Solution (PPS), a colour management solution provider in South Asia and Middle East, has been appointed as the distributor for X-Rite Pantone solutions in South India. The territories include Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh (now bifurcated) and Kerala.

Percept joins X-Rite’s representative in South, Bodhi Professional; AGS in West and Graphic Enterprises in East.

Announcing the development, Vishwa Shukla, vice president for sales at X-Rite Pantone, said, “X-Rite’s region-wise distribution of channel partners is aimed at bettering our market penetration and improving focus on each market. It also betters proximity to the end-customers in terms of ease of sourcing.”

He added, “The vision of PPS matches that of X-Rite, which is to provide solutions which assist printers to improve productivity, quality and reduce cost of production. PPS’ technical expertise and brand name makes them a perfect partner for us.”

The decade-old PPS is already a partner with GMG for its colour management solutions and also represents other brands like Print Smart ERP, Elpical, Eizo, Just, Troika etc. and has customers across Asia and Africa. Pragati offset, First Print, Sheenlac Paints, and HCL Technologies are some of PPS’ customer in India.

PPS will handle X-Rite’s entire range of imaging and media solutions that include profilers, plate readers, densitometers, scanners, pre press, automation tools and ink formulation systems.

Afsal M Kottal, director of PPS, said  “The usefulness of X-Rite kit to the press operation is a well established face. Our customers are happy that they have a better hold on colour consistency and quick setting up of the press for the next job.”

According to X-Rite, while there are several X-Rite automated densitomers, the installed base of IntelliTrax and EasyTrax in India is 50 units.
