Manfred Werfel, deputy chief executive, Wan-Ifra, said, “The members of the 2014-2016 edition of the Color Quality Club, which for two decades has recognised the world’s best colour newspaper printers, have demonstrated exceptional printing quality that meets rigorous international standards and offer readers and advertisers high-quality products.”
The induction ceremony will take place on 15 October. More than 8,000 visitors are expected at attend the World Publishing Expo, which will feature more than 300 exhibitors and 100 speakers and presenters.
Once every two years for the last 20 years, Wan-Ifra has offered newspapers worldwide an opportunity to demonstrate their colour printing quality through the International Newspaper Color Quality Club.
Apart from optimising their work process and motivating their personnel, to be able to achieve this elite distinction means that a newspaper can improve its standing among its readers and convince demanding advertising customers, said Werfel.
Though there is a rigorous selection procedure, Werfel said, the Color Quality Club is more than just a technical printing competition, as it offers the participating companies additional possibility to benchmark their printing quality against recognised international standards and improve it.
“The results of the competition confirm the successful use of personnel motivation, correct choice of material, in-depth knowledge of the entire workflow as well as skilled use of measuring and control techniques of the newspaper companies,” Werfel added.
Werfel said, the initiative promotes high-quality colour newspaper printing. The growing number of newspapers going in this direction ensures that readers obtain a high-quality product and advertisers an outstanding advertising vehicle.
An exhibition and a brochure presenting the successful participants will be available at the expo.
