The company, prior to buying the Zund, used a Chinese-make digital cutter. But with almost everything Ace produced needed to be cut or finished with increased speed and extreme accuracy, it looked for a solution which could do that. “Today we are looking at product launches in one month’s time, which earlier used to take three months. The Zund was the perfect fit for the type of work we do,” said Rushabh Shah, one of the owners at Ace.

Ace produces standing display units, stacked displays, counter top displays, printed ad boards, canopy, and flanges among other outdoor and indoor display products.

Shah said, they first saw the machine at the Zund demo centre in Bengaluru and decided that this was the machine he wanted. “The display market is poised to become more dynamic. An effective point-of-sale display has the potential of making the product reach its full market potential,” said Shah. He added, “New technologies like the ones in Zund, has enabled us to move forward and become more dynamic in our business.”

The company is equipped with full-fledged industrial screen printing units, including eight manual tables, three semi-automatic and one automatic screen printing machines; three HP latex, one HP 5500 and two eco-solvent printing presses; thermal laminator; and heavy duty platen punching machines; and an equipment for the fabrication of displays.

According to Shah, the Zund S3 Series is a modular kit capable of cutting substrates, in board form as well as sheet form, of up to 50mm. The speed at which is can cut is 1.4meters per second and is fitted with the latest EOT 250, electric oscillating tool, capable of efficiently processing sandwich board/honeycomb materials, thick cardboard and tough leather. Besides, there’s the V-cut, which Shah said, can cater to cuts from zero degree to 90-degree angles. “It has helped us deliver quality 3D display products.”

Among Ace’s clients are: Reliance Industries, Vodafone, Glenmark, Bisleri, and few top FMCG companies, which Shah did not want to name because of the non-disclosure agreement.

Ace has a staff strength of 40, three factories in Vasai totaling to 15,000 sq/ft, and three other plants in Mumbai’s Jogeshwari and Goregaon area. The company has a turnover of Rs 12-crore per annum.
