The firm offers a raft of services like cutting, lamination, spot UV, coating, folding, and VDP and binding services among other services. Balasubramanian P S, joint director, Aftaprinta said, “The small and medium scale printers account for more than 80% of printers in India. For each of the various post-press processes, different machines, raw materials and skill set is required.”

“The capital investment for this is sizeable and can prove to be a burden for MSME printers. Thus, Aftaprinta was launched with a view to provide an outsourcing option for the post-press activities,” said Balasubramanian.

The Chennai unit has installed a range of machinery to cater to the post-press requirement under one roof. The firm has opted for Autoprint Fine Coat 80 for coating and the Autoprint VDP 65 machine among others.

Speaking about the services offered, Ramanarayanan R, head of operations at Aftaprinta in Chennai said, “The service was launched with an aim to reduce the cost of transportation, loading and unloading charges between different outsourcing agents for different activities, and also reduce risks of delays, quality and material damages.”

Ramnarayanan added that, “The advantages of a dedicated post-press service will ensure quality, accessibility and time saving for the printers along with reducing the load of capital and manpower investment.”

The Chennai unit is in line with Aftaprinta’s plans to set up such post-press shops which will either be self-owned or a franchise, and will offer a whole range of automated post-press services to the printers.
