In July, the company signed a distribution agreement with France-based, Alwan Color Expertise (ACE).
As per the agreement, Alwan will provide colour management and standardisation software and AGS will be responsible for sales and after-sales services. At PrintPack, the AGS will display the CMYK ink optimiser software for optimising print to ready files and also the Print Standardiser software for carrying out the standardisation of the offset press. This basically helps the printers to save on the inks consumption anywhere between 15-30%.
“In addition, we will have densitometers, spectrodensitometers, auto tracking devices, plate readers, colour management software from Xrite, and RIP cum proofing software for inkjet, digital, large format printing for standardising proofs to match to offset printing standards from ColorGate,” says Vishnu R Kamat, associate vice president – sales, Advanced Graphic Systems.
“Adapting to technologies, which can help printers save on the wastes and raw material, is a direct way of managing costs. Technologies like ink pre-setting (CIP3), proofing, printing to standards in standard conditions play a vital role in helping a printer print good quality at lower wastes,” he added.
He also said that the market of automated colour measurement devices, software solutions for proofing will grow stronger in the near future.
Asked about his views on the venue change, Kamat said, “We do have our apprehension on the venue change as Delhi, especially Pragati Maidan, is easily accessible for people coming from other states and also for printers from Delhi who would just want to visit the show for some time and return back to work. Noida may be an issue as it will take a whole day for them.”
“Having said that, PrintPack by the virtue of its name should be able to attract the printers, and I believe that printers will visit the show to see if the products displayed at Drupa are being showcased here in India as well. This will help them understand the products better and help them adapt,” he concluded.
