Shroff had the vision to recognise the tremendous business potential offered by the printing industry. And so, in 1971, he set up Nu Tech Photo lithographers. His vision and efforts made the firm grow many folds within three years. His hard work coupled with focus on quality and customer satisfaction soon earned good recognition among the print Industry.
Alongside the upgradation of Nu Tech Photo lithographers, K L Shroff embarked upon expansion and diversification plans by opening new printing and allied units in Okhla, Noida and Haryana – Nu Tech Security Printers in 1985, ARJ Security Printers in 1989, Nu Tech Packaging 1991, Nu Tech Inks in 1992 and Nu Tech Solvex. Today Nu Tech Photo lithographer is a well-known printing unit which has won several national awards for excellence in printing. With the capital generated from the profits earned from time to time, Shroff continued to installing the latest printing machinery and allied equipment at a faster pace.
Over the years, his businesses have rapidly grown and are now managed by his three sons. Ashok and Jatinder, both graduates from the London College of Printing. They manage Nu Tech Security Printers and Nu Tech Packagings respectively. In the meanwhile, Ravi Shroff, educated in the USA, manages Nu Tech Photolithographers. The group has further diversified into healthcare with two state-of-the-art medical facilities under the name of Nu Tech Mediworld. They continue to focus on modernisation and expansion.
Throughout his business life, Shroff has been involved in the development of the printing industry. He served the All India Federation of Master Printers as president, twice, during 1988-89 and 1992-93. He was also the president of Delhi Printers’ Association during 1983-84.
He has also done a lot of philanthropic work. He has been a longstanding member of Lions Club where he was a front runner in many projects and achieved the level of District Governor (1990). He motivated the clubs to do social work in their areas. He donated blood several times (35 times) along with his wife, Kanta Shroff (34 times). His priority was to help poor and needy children to get a proper education.
While reminiscing through his long career Shroff proudly states that, “My transformation from an engineer handling cement, sand, bricks and steel to printing ink, paper, cardboard boxes and printing machines is worth noting”.
The president and the office bearers of All India Federation of Master Printers disburse homage to K L Shroff, a doyen of Indian printing industry and past president of AIFMP for his remarkable contribution to the federation. It is undeniably a great loss to the entire printing fraternity.
We will pray for you and your family, let his soul rest in peace in the feet of almighty.
