AIFMP raises funds for affected Kashmir printers

In September 2014, the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir witnessed disastrous floods across majority of its districts caused by torrential rainfall.

The calamity not only affected the Indian administrated Jammu and Kashmir, but also Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab in Pakistan. According to news reports, 284 people in India and 280 people in Pakistan succumbed to their injuries.

The floods not only perished lives, but also destroyed a significant number of homes and businesses in the region.

Headquartered in AIFMP, which represents 59 affiliate associations across India, has stepped forward to provide their support towards those affected by the floods.

Anand Limaye, general secretary of AIFMP, who himself donated Rs 5,555 towards the noble cause, said, “J & K Printers’ Association, are members of AIFMP and they are part of the print fraternity. They have not only lost their homes, but their source of livelihood with the destruction of their machinery, electrical installations, raw material and furniture-fixture.

Limaye added, “On behalf of All India Master Printers’ Association I hereby appeal to all printers of India to contribute towards this cause and help our fellow printers stand on their feet once again.”

Mumbai-based Mumbai Mudrak Sangh donated Rs 11,000.
