ABS had installed its first KBA Rapida66 ten months ago and has already produced more than 70-lakh impressions.
Husain Asgar, managing director at ABS, said: “We are extremely satisfied with the performance of Rapida 66 and have already crossed seven million impression mark in ten months since its installation.”
Husain added: “The main reason to opt for the second KBA is the increase in the print orders we receive. It exceeds our production capacity. For the last three months, we have been outsourcing the jobs and the quality of the outsourced jobs is not satisfctory. Both our presses, KBA Rapida 66 and Ryobi 925 are running at full capacity and therefore we planned to buy one more press.”
KBA75E has a 20x29inch size and a speed of 16,000 sheets per hour (sph).
Husain said: “The size is ideal for us as we get the jobs majorly in this size. Our first KBA press has a speed of 10,000 sph. The new will increase our productivity.”
ABS has plans to expand its operation at new premises in Bhivandi near Mumbai. For this, the print firm has invested in 70,000sq/ft area which is under construction and will be ready by 2014. ABS plans to achieve Rs 1,000-crore turnover with 1,000 employees serving 2,000 clients via 15 verticals, 40 branches and five businesses.
