Alpla acquires Amcor’s facility in Alandi

Plastic packaging specialist Alpla Group has acquired packaging major Amcor’s Alandi facility for the production of preforms for PET bottles.

The plant, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the metropolis of Pune, manufactures preforms for the production of PET bottles for the beverage industry for top customers such as Coca-Cola and Amul among others.

With this takeover, Alpla eyes to expand its core business in the PET segment in India. All 50 employees working in the current facility will be taken over by the Alpla Group.

Vagish Dixit, managing director Alpla India, said ‘The newly acquired facility near Pune will primarily help us to better serve the market in the Western Region of India and further expand existing partnerships with customers such as Coca-Cola.”

This facility will be the company’s ninth location established in India and the second in the western part of the country.
