The kit was installed last year.
Ankit Singh Waldia, the second generation of the family owned business, said, “We did not have an in-house plate production facility and our demand of plates was increasing. Therefore we went for the Kodak.”
He said he is happy with the kit, adding, “The quality of the plates is better, so is the outcome. Waldia added that the production of the kit for the moment is 100 plates per day and 90% of this is in-house demand.”
Ankit Printers, a sister concern of Pritika Offset Printers, was established in December 2015. “I spent my childhood in a printing press and it drives me. I wanted to something on my own, and then I thought, why not I do something in the same industry. Thus, Ankit came into existence,” said Waldia, adding that the company was missing an in-house pre-press set-up and now this gap has been bridged.
Bhuwan Singh, who has more than a decade’s of experience as a print professional at International Print-O-Pac, established Pritika Offset Printers in 2000. Pritika is equipped with three printing presses of single-, four- and five-colour configurations from Polygraph. The size of all printing presses is 19x26-inch. The company is into books and commercial printing.
Waldia said since the installation of the CTP system, the company is also working as a pre-press bureau for other print firms, but only a few. He added that the company is strict about not offering long and major credits as receiving payments become a pain.
Waldia believes that thermal technology is best for quality printing (dots ranges from 150 to 200). “The Kodak Squarespot Imaging Technology enables accurate and consistent imaging from plate to plate and machine to machine, resulting in fewer remakes and less time adjusting for variables,” he added.
Some of Pritika’s major clients include the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), Prism Cement, and World Health Organisation (WHO), beside some major apparel companies.
