APL Machinery and Vegra forms new joint venture

The new company will be formally launched at Printpack 2013.

APL Machinery is a manufacturer of UV coating curing systems, screen printing, postpress, PVC profile printing and non-woven bags machines, and Vegra is a manufacturer of dispersion coatings, fountain solutions, specific purpose coatings, cleaning and maintenance products and printing aids.

Rajiv Kapoor, CEO, APL Machinery, said, “Demand of today printer is to give special effects and that is only possible with right machinery and consumables else the effects cannot be achieved. APL is a leader in UV machines and Vegra in print finishing consumables so joining hand together will provide a single point contact to all our customers for print finishing applications.”

In order to cater the new print finishing requirements of the print industry, Vegra APL Expert team will focus to educate about solutions and applications rather than only selling. Under this banner the newly formed company will manufacture chemicals for postpress at a separate manufacturing plant at Faridabad.

Vegra APL Printing Solutions gives us a stronger presence in the country, allowing us to help our customers to develop their strong portfolios so they compete in an increasable competitive landscape by offering additional value to their customers. Being a separate entity, it will be managed by a team of professionals.

“We are very positive and confident that this tie-up will be a win-win situation for all stakeholders – Vegra, APL and graphic art industry. Packaging printers will be on our radar and we are targeting good sale for the financial year 2013-14,” concluded Kapoor.

Meanwhile the company has hired around ten people for the joint venture, and it is expected to increase in the next few months of operations as the headhunt for the service support team is still on.
