Arrow Digital adds finesse with the demo centre
Arrow Digital, the Ahmedabad-based distributor of wide-format machines, has added printing on leather and textile to its R&D plan, which is being carried out at its demo centre in Gandhinagar. The demo centre was established in the year 2007 by Sameer Patel, managing director and CEO of Arrow Digital and includes experimenting printing on glass, metal and ceramics.

The reason of establishing such a service for the industry, according to Patel, is a practice to explain technology and showcase the end-product to its customers, all under one roof. “The motive is simple; enable our prospective customers to be able to see the machines of their choice running live and understand the technology,” said Patel. “We are open 24x7 for our customers who wish to look and have hands-on experience on the machine,” he added.
The demo centre facilitates the customers with all sorts of technologies for printing on ceramic, glass, textile, signage and many others. The centre currently has machines from Gerber, Epson, KeraJet, Jetrix and Tecglass.
In addition to this, the centre also hosts training on the machines for its customers. “This practice ensures our existing customers effective usage of the machinery and maximise their investments,” said Patel.
The R&D centre houses a mini ceramic glazing and curing room for sample testing. The room helps with ceramic printing and curing and also functions as a sample testing room for customers who arrange to get their samples to be printed on.
According to Patel, the Morbi ceramic market is booming and has high potential since the per capita consumption is low compared to other countries. “The current ceramic industry in Morbi has around 500 companies and is expected to grow 20-30% by April 2014. This development has happened after the digital evolution in last two years,” he said.
With experimentation on leather and textile, Arrow hopes to add new dimensions to its portfolio. “Our pursuit is print, but we have shifted the focus towards the industrial applications market.”
Arrow has achieved 25+ installations of Gerber and Jetrix combined in the last three years besides a number of Epson’s large format machines.
