Aurangabad hosts technology seminar

On 18 March 2016, the department of Printing Technology & Graphic Arts of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, organised a one-day conference.

Professor Parag Hase, head of the department said, “The aim behind organising the conference is to know the students and researchers in the field, the new trends in printing technology and print media while there have been changes. The gathering shall provide a platform for the printers to share new technologies and the actual feasibilities in their present print businesses.”
 
'New Trends in Printing Technology and Print Media’ was the theme of the conference. The conference was inaugurated by Kamal Chopra, vice-president, All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) and Prof Chopade, the vice-chancellor of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
 
During the conference, Chopra explained the journey of printing advancements from ancient times and the focus on the future of printing technologies and shared how we are used to the world of digitisation.
 
In a panel discussion chaired by Tushar Dhote, president of Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS), said, “New technology in image transferring systems are being introduced. The printers have to update themselves with the changing times and fulfill the requirements of the consumers. Electronics and computerisation have modernised every bit of our life and printing cannot be an exception for it. The printers must adapt with the electronics and information technology tools.”
 
Suresh Mahajan, deputy general manager at Lokmat Media, gave a presentation on web offset printing and how there is a change in the newspaper industry. Virendra Rajput of Monotech Systems, with his team, conducted a session and demonstrated on 3D printing with live 3D functionings.
 
Ravindra Joshi, treasurer, AIFMP, the chief guest at the conference, in his concluding statement said, "All printing institutes in India are coming together, which is a positive sign for the industry. We need to do our best for the creating skilled manpower."
