Speaking to PrintWeek India, M N Pandey of Avantika Printers, said, “As this book was as a gift to be given by the PM, our counterpart Orient Publishing, the original publisher of this title chose us to produce limited copies on their behalf in a specific time period to match international standards of quality.”
This special edition book titled ‘The Bhagavad Gita - According to Gandhi’ was digitally printed with Oce VP 6160 press on Classic Ivory papers by Kraftile Papers. The book was designed by Dheeraj Devgun from Orient Publishing.
The book was decorated with fine gold foiling on book cover made up of khadi whereas gold screen printing was done inside the case of the book. It took four days to complete the job from start to finish. The entire fabrication from Cloth and board to complete case was produced in-house.
“The challenge was to keep the name and brand value of the publisher intact in the market and surpassing their expectations. And yes, printing for the most talked about PM is a challenge of its own,” concluded Pandey.
