Teacher’s Origin Whiskey for Beam Global
Tigre Blanc Vodka for Tigre Vodkar
Grants Whiskey – The Family Reserve for William Grant and Sons
The entries encompassed high-value luxury and with it the Award for Packaging Converter of the Year.
The Joy was a rigid box with a window design having the right finish with matt, hot-foil stamping and an intricate spot UV pattern. When it came to print, BILT Royal art paper was used on a Komori Lithrone press and was inked in CMYK+brown=metallic beige. Then there was the Teachers Origin tall rigid box with perfection of matching the copper band and 3D embossing of the brand name. The Tigre Blanc Vodka used embossing on Kappa board pasted with faux leather covering material, revealing receptacles for a selection of six bottles. And the Grants Whiskey’s large spot UV tree in metallic red livened up the print on metpet with matt lamination, spot gloss UV and embossing, elevating the look of the pack.
Print runs ranged from 5,000 to 25,000 pieces.
“The boxes look awesome,” said a judge. Another added, “The judicious use of embellishments like embossing, spot UV, gold and silver colours speak of a luxury element that is pleasing.”
Overall, this category had a lot of strong contenders, but the winner strongly tied the outstanding quality of print and finishing, producing complete and cohesive products. “Pragati’s entries exemplify luxury packaging,” enthused a judge.
