H B Fuller's Pune plant produces industrial adhesives of global standards
H B Fuller’s Pune plant is producing hot melt and water-based adhesives, including those for the graphic arts, paper converting, tapes and labels, bottle labelling, packaging, tobacco, non woven, wood working, automotive, filters, footwear and textile lamination. For this the company has invested 12mn USD.

The Pune plant is part of the firm’s expansion in the Europe, India, Middle East, and Africa (EIMEA) region, with India being a key market for the company.
Sandeep Garyali, country head and director at H B Fuller India Adhesives, said, “The development of its Pune facility is a particularly strong indication of its growing strength in emerging markets and its commitment to meeting the needs of its global customers.”
The Pune plant is equipped with high-end research and development (R&D) laboratory which ensures delivery of right adhesive solution to its customers.
Garyali said, “We are very proud of the Pune facility, which emphasises H B Fuller’s commitment to the non woven and printing and packaging industry. Our high specification R&D laboratory enables H B Fuller to work in partnership with our customers to ensure we deliver the right adhesive solution that offers real value to our customers. This 7,000sq/m facility has been built to satisfy the market requirements until 2020.”
H B Fuller's Pune facility is centrally located with easy access to serve this market via transport links across India or export infrastructure via the port of Mumbai, which is located 100 kilometres to the northeast.
Meanwhile, the adhesive manufacturer has announced its fourth quarter 2012 results. As per the result, net income from continuing operations for the fourth quarter of 2012 was $25.0 million, or $0.49 per diluted share, versus net income from continuing operations of $22.2 million, or $0.45 per diluted share, in last year's fourth quarter. Adjusted total diluted earnings per share from continuing operations in the fourth quarter of 2012 were $0.641, up 14% from the prior year's adjusted result of $0.561 and up 23% on a comparable 13 week basis.
Net revenue for the fourth quarter of 2012 was $513.3 million, up 27.8% versus the fourth quarter of 2011. Year-over-year growth was approximately 35% when adjusting for the extra week in the prior year.
H B Fuller India started its commercial operations in October 2009 and since then the company has rapidly grown the business by providing global standard, high performance adhesives solutions to a diverse range of MNC and domestic customers for a variety of market segments and customer applications . "Sales turnover in 2013 is expected to be over 120 crore with the start of exports from its Shirwal, Pune plant to countries of Indian subcontinent, UAE and Europe,” concludes Garyali.
